21) ninja five-o (gba, cleared on normal)

havent played all the way through this since high school probably and it still owns. very obviously a budget game but they nailed the movement and mechanics so it just feels great to play. forgot how tough it gets too. probably do a hard mode run when impmas rolls around

7. Eviternity. Fuckin awesome megawad outside of a couple clunkers - I think MAP32 is too long & monotonous, the heaven chapter in general is kinda lame bc the pacing is just too manic. They made an absolutely stunning texture set to do some great heavenly settings and its just 4 levels of nonstop slaughter arenas and then a godawful final boss. real bummer note to end on, but I had an absolute blast with 90% of the set. A sequel jsut came out at the end of last year, but I'll get around to that later after some shorter sets.

4. last epoch, at least i did all the monoliths and unlocked the end end game. crafting rules, campaign is fun and not annoying or overlong, but a year after i first played it and after a 1.0 release the end game areas still have worse monster density than any other arpg. just tiny packs scattered over huge maps 90% of the time. rly annoying bcos the skills and loot and systems are all really good, and when you do get big packs its really fun. still good enough to make it worth playing just frustrating. also the three pinnacle dungeons or w/e they are are complete aids + pointless.

5. balatro. got a gold stake win but im going to keep playing it for 1000 hours.

8. Silent Hill 3 (PS2), 2/29

Still an outstanding game and a great way to round-out the "main" trilogy. Team Silent did such an awesome job with the callbacks and references to the first game without getting in the way of telling a proper follow-up to all the bizarre cult stuff from the original. Heather is a cool character, too.

Played it through PCSX2 with the widescreen and 60FPS patches and can we talk about how good this game looks even now???

I mean, granted, I'm still working with a 1080p monitor, but that doesn't change the fact that just a simple upscale still looks impressive, it's a perfect example of what having great art direction can do for a game

Probably won't play SH4 again though lol

Imo it's the best looking game on the PS2. The textures and character models still look great.
