Here's a suruga-ya temptation, pretty good price on OG Xbox high definition AV pack.

https://www.suruga-ya.com/en/product/158010156

*mine didn't come in the original packaging, also they made two versions of this one like a breakout box and one an all in one cable and pictured is the cable...but I got the box. Kind of annoying, but still a pretty good deal compared to Ebay prices.

Genuinely not sure why you’d buy that when you could get a third party one 90% cheaper, an AV cable doesn’t really need to be ‘authentic’ imo

There's got to be a reason they sell for $70-$80 on Ebay other than just that they are original. And if not, I'll sell them on Ebay when I'm done with them when the PixelFX HDMI mod eventually comes out.

I've got two (why?) xbox component cable sets from 2005 or whatever and these shits are heavy as hell. Gotta have a big heavy cable for a big heavy console

The breakout box is the only one I’ve seen that actually has an optical port for 5.1, highly recommended because it is actual in game 5.1 and not just the PS2’s “you might get 5.1 in a cutscene for the 6 or 7 games where the developers bothered”

If you can't figure out where the cost-cutting is coming from on a $5 set of AV cables, you probably want to see a doctor to have your hearing checked because you're fuckin' deaf.

My 2nd shipment came in:

Thanks for pointing out the Hyper Blaster Random Stranger. I'll probably sell my lime green US one I got because it's ugly. Bought that Monster Hunter special edition for that cool as hell controller. The maroon Mario thing is a Club Nintendo reward. It's a really soft pouch and I used to have one and kept my 3DS in it, always wanted another for my Analogue Pocket. The PocketStations... one of them looks brand new and one of them has several lines of missing pixels :negative:

That Hori PS1 controller is actually pretty great, did the tried and true test of playing some Street Fighter with it and I think I actually prefer it over the original PS1 controller since the grips are longer.

Kind of annoyed with the Mario/Luigi/Zelda controllers. I know the pictures aren't necessarily of the items but their pictures showed them in the box and the description didn't say "no box theory". So I paid up for those when there were cheaper ones available because I thought they were coming with the box :argh:

Not pictured, two more PS2 dualshocks I wish I didn't buy. Hopefully these work.

One more pic, apparently the Pocketstations had Playstation etched batteries which I thought was pretty cool:

new haul

I really only wanted the playstation analog controller, but rounded out my cart with some wheels and a hori pad that I just had to hold in my hands and a sampling of their N64 controllers.

I played just a little with the ps1 sticks on Colony Wars just to see what it felt like because I've never really done the whole flight stick thing. The game felt awkward but the actual sticks feel amazing. Probably going to take some getting used to it, I only played through the first mission.

The smaller wheel in the photo is the Hyper Steering 64 which is made by ASCII and folds into itself and I'm 90% sure I'm going to break it every time I try snapping between folded and the various wheel angles. I tried Mario Kart for a minute but drifting was kinda hard and it didn't feel right. However, Cruis'n USA felt amazing, it took a minute to figure out the sensitivity but once I did I had no problem clearing the game on easy. Real happy with this cause the wheel made the game more fun.

The larger wheel is a Game Source Formula Zero. I bought it mostly cause it can be used on Saturn, PS1, and N64 and it was going for $170 less than it was on ebay. Has a shifter and pedals that you can map to whatever button you need. I only played with it for a minute on N64, felt pretty good but it's very squeaky.

The Hori PS1 pad I bought is just a joke of a buy. I just had to hold those thing long handles in my hands. Haven't tried it out with anything yet, feels as weird as you'd expect, I think my hands are a little too big for it.

The N64 stick feels decent, it was cheap so I'm happy. I need to clean it a little. Also I think "Controller Broth" is a funny translation for these two-tone n64 controllers.

The Analogue Pocket adapter set is scheduled to arrive today (Lynx, TurboGrafx-16, Neo Geo Pocket Color), so yesterday I popped over to a local game store to get a couple of carts for them.

The selection of TG16/PCE titles was something like 65% Keith Courage in Alpha Zones and 20% baseball/football titles :v: but they did have Final Lap Twin, which is a wonderful gem. It blends your standard console racing game for the era with an RPG!

I've never seriously sat down to play anything from the Lynx library, but from what I understand, Crystal Mines 2 is regarded with some fondness.

They didn't have any NPGC titles in stock, but I think I have a Magical Drop Pocket cart around here somewhere?

There was a decent selection of loose 2600 carts, so I also grabbed this Name This Game with a missing label for a few bucks because of the interesting cartridge shape. I'd actually never heard of it before - it was released by US Games as a "Name This Game and Win $10,000" contest but apparently the company folded before the prize was awarded.

It has a decent loop - you move left and right at the bottom, firing up at the the octopus tentacles as they slowly drop down and move back and forth. At the same time, there's a variable-speed shark moving like a lone space invader to shoot, and you have a decreasing oxygen meter that can be replshened when when the boat up top happens to lower a cable to you (which you have to follow left/right to maintain contact)

Are you using it for a fighting game? I would maybe give the button version of Track & Field a go (it replaced an earlier version that used a trackball that was difficult to maintain) or maybe Toobin? a Punch Out game, arcade or home or version, could be interesting

Something like Starfox or a shmup or a gallery shooter like Wild Guns for just getting your left-hand used to controlling in all directions. There are also some beat-em ups that have fighting game motions like Guardian Heroes.

Lynx games look real weird from the side:

My Turbo Everdrive v2.5 is giving me a variety of errors.. I'll try a smaller, different brand of SD card tomorrow:

It's the odd man out of the Mystery Dungeon series. That doesn't mean it's bad, just that if you don't care for it then you should try one of the other games in the series.

I understand the prices for complete in box copies because it was a kids game on a budget console and the boxes are cardboard, but the sellers were multi million sellers - loose carts shouldn’t be that much
