challenging to extreme are definitely something with match making. at higher levels people tend to have their poo poo together but i've dropped into extreme malevelon creek missions to see a bunch of sub-level-10s rocking a machine gun and the 120mm he barrage, the later of which has already cost them sixteen reinforcements

Found my mic and I've been playing this nonstop since yesterday. I'm loving it. This has been a great few months for games.

PC Discord link in OP isn't working, can I get a new one?

Yeah I'm mostly doing 7-Suicide right now and it's fairly consistent while still difficult.

Anytime I try to relax and drop it down though are those missions where I am fighting for my absolute life and all my strats are on a constant cooldown.
Making it to the dropship, much less even completing the mission is a bonus.

Those stupid defend missions where you are trying to escort people at higher levels are really awful, I just hope those get replaced. They were fine until I hit 6 and 7.

Imagine how much worse they'll be when they release difficulty 10-12.

Starting to hit a wall playing with pubbies at difficulty six I'm not good enough to carry folks.

My last mission ended with 0 reinforcements when a teammate's gatling sentry aggroed the bile titan I had successfully snuck past, so I dropped an orbital railgun on him, and as he died I was immediately stepped on by the other bile titan they had aggroed.

Wait for them to get embroiled in a fight then book it to the farthest objective. Can only be one reinforcement call on the map and it'll be on them, you'll have the smoothest mission of your life.

getting all the weapons/boosters/armor/ship upgrades, because I want to have them

Been doing a lot pf bugs over the past couple of days with the global orders up, kinda excited to get back to bots and experiment with anything other than the breaker. Had that slugger unlocked and sitting in my armory for a while now. Incendiary grenade sure is shining against the bugs though, the only area where its lacking is it doesn't blow open the large container doors you find buried in the dirt.

The slugger is embarrassingly bad. Like, it's absolutely terrible. They did a poor job balancing the guns in many respects.

Just bought this last night and it seems pretty fun, though I had a bunch of rounds with AFK players and people leaving their mic on playing random home sounds and muttering.

I feel like the difficulty should ramp up a little quicker, at least with the enemy count if not the damage. I have to complete missions in lower difficulties to unlock higher ones but it feels like I’m running around killing seven bugs in a giant map so it’s a bit of a drag.

Just finish a series, which is two or three grouped missions in a row, and you get access to the next diff. If you really want to play harder diffs you'll get up there very quickly, probably too quickly

I think it needs like an AI director that can read the room and ease up on the drops when it sees me getting pummelled.
The mission is fine at the start but once your stratagems hit cooldown or you lose a couple players and have to respawn them you immediately lose your momentum.

I'll die and suddenly there are 50 tanks driving around with 100 more on the way.

Seems like yet another "you are only playing bug missions" moment to me, slugger is pretty good against bots. Oneshots normal bots and oneshots devastators to the face.

Yea the Slugger is what the DMR wishes it was.
Honestly when you crouch or lay down the pump action is just perfect rhythm for lining up the next headshot. It destroys bots beautifully - and I've started taking it over the Dominator since it doesn't have to deal with slow-rear end bullets.

One-shots Warriors to the head, two-shots Brood Commanders to the head, staggers Stalkers, one-shot Hunters, penetrates Hive Guard. The ammo hurts against bugs but it's still monstrously effective. Slugger + Rover is my go-to on high tier Terminid missions.

Generally far enough since there's not much really open terrain in the game outside of beaches.

Though some of it is that the most popular support weapons are long-range ones that a good shotgun complements perfectly.

Shotguns behave like real-life shotguns and not video game shotguns, which is to say they have pretty tight groupings. I can plug bugs at long range with reasonably controlled shotgun blasts no problem.

EMS mortar is pretty great, directly beneficial to the team and you're not going to get murdered if you're in the splash zone. Did reloading duties for the team tonight between the recoilless rifle and the autocannon, it's pretty fun when you can coordinate like that although it probably would've been faster if I just shot at the chargers with my railgun instead of doing the reloading lol.

I honestly feel like difficulty 7 is easier than 5 or 6 right now because people playing on 7 are generally people who've been playing for a while who are farming super samples and aren't total idiots, whereas if you play on 5 or 6 you will get people who try to fight every patrol and ignore the eye of sauron and stalker holes

If I want to set stuff on fire, I'm taking a Flamethrower and Eagle Napalm. As cool as the incendiary shotgun looks, there's just not enough effect to burning to justify it.

Burning really needs to cause panic or something.
