Seen the kadoban Takakeisho show enough to bet on him pulling it off again. S/K This category went from loaded to whatever pretty quick. M1-5 Don't like picking the first timer, but Onosato still doesn't have a topknot so that's cool. And he's outside the joi so he should have an easier time than fellow prospect Atamifuji. M6-10 Tough choice between the up and coming guy or the sentimental faves. Although Gonoyama isn't as young as I thought. He's older than Kotoshoho who's already had an entire rise, fall and comeback arc. M11+ See above, but coming down on the side of the kids this time. Juryo WTK and Hakuho seem poised to crush the field of healthy.

S/K: Gotta support my boy Nishikigi in his second try at sanyaku! Fingers crossed he has another showing like July last year. M1-5: Picking Asanoyama worked out pretty well last time. I feel like he had a better shot than the other guys at this rank as long as he can avoid major injury. M6-10: Has Shodai been demoted to the point where he'll start winning? It will be fun to find out. M11+: Shonannoumi got a few 7-8s at the cusp of the joi before eating poo poo last basho. I feel like he was promoted too quickly after his debut 10-5 and he'll do well at M12. Juryo: Love a comeback story. Y/O - Kirishima - Hoshoryu - Takakeisho S/K - Wakamotoharu - Nishikigi - Daieisho M1-5 - Ura - Tobizaru - Hiradoumi M6-10 - Tamawashi - Kinbozan - Kotoshoho M11+ - Takerufuji - Nishikifuji - Kitanowaka Juryo - Tomokaze - Oshoma - Hakuoho Juryo selections primarily because I'm convinced Hakuoho and Waka are going to be hugely in demand. M1-5 was a tough one - a lot of folks got slung up high by the weird balance of scores, and I'm not convinced it'll be to everyone's benefit. But Ura will have a pretty new set of folks, so maybe... (Except... you know.... 9 folks in Y-K to overcome as the top of the JOI..) M6-10 feels like a pretty good spot for Tamawashi to be - although aforementioned ranking slingshots from the bottom may work against him, if my theory of him being best against the top rank is correct.
