The whole game, except for the tutorial and a few brief solo missions. Generally a single boss, or a story section with no fighting. Everybody progresses together.

I'd suggest jumping straight into Nioh 2, personally. The mechanics are much more refined than the first game, and the stories are mostly unrelated. And also complete nonsense unless you went to high school in Japan or have otherwise acquired an encyclopedic knowledge of the Sengoku period. The game doesn't bother to properly introduce or develop any characters or events because it assumes you already know them by heart.

I’ve completed both games so yeah if I can find someone to play with I’ll do nioh 2.
Do you still have to restart the mission from scratch if you die too many times?

No, you can restart from shrine when the gauge empties instead of having to restart the whole mission. the only penalty is that it lowers the glory reward from the mission, which is completely ignorable. I played nioh 2 multiplayer for something like 120 hours and it’s absolutely great

Awkwardly, one of those is actually in Ukrainian, saying its graphics requirements are too high for the sort of game it is, taking about how it's a slide show on their notebook and 40fps on a GTX 1660 on the desktop.

There is also a one sentence fragment that is indeed in Russian that's complaining about "poor optimization"

Well, fair enough. In terms of gameplay it's not the type of game that should struggle too much no matter how good the graphics look.

Guess I'll give it a try and report back how the framerate looks on a 3070 at 1080p.

Well for me the game runs extremely well. Most cutscenes are locked at 30 fps, but that's not a huge deal and I'm sure is just the legacy of the original being a dated game at this point. Rest of the game was at a vsynced 60 fps the entire time with no strain on my system, and it looked beautiful. The shadows could be a bit wonky, and the antialiasing doesn't always function well, but overall I'm so impressed at this remake I just beat the entire game in one go.

All that said, the game itself is almost a masterpiece. A beautiful, tragic story, amazing fairy tale-like environments, and fantastic characters even though there is no true dialogue. Not super challenging, but what an adventure and it looks great in this remake. Just as good as when I played it all those years ago, seriously if you have not played this game GO DO IT NOW.

e: also it's only thirteen bucks at launch

Blast, slice and shred through your enemies in this hardcore FPS inspired by the icons of the '90s, powered by the legendary Quake-1 Tech. Taking place in a realm left to rot, take up arms, unearth long-forgotten secrets and hunt down the Guardians of the Old World.

It's certainly been a long time coming. The combination of it being based on such old tech combined with the Corona-Virus fiasco has certainly delayed development, but the final game certainly seems like it was worth the wait. It's not a short game either, and it has a somewhat unique save system (though you have the option to turn that off in the menus).

Weird Dreams is a pretty well known kusogame. It's just a bit over 10 minutes long, but so inscrutable that a lot of players take hours to figure out what they're supposed to be doing in each screen. You could compare it to Out Of This World / Another World, except there's no rhyme or reason to what you have to do to progress.

There's some decent and indeed weird animation and sprite work, but over $5 for a 12 minute game known for being bad is still a bit of an ask.

I don't know, played about 8 hours so far and I haven't had any serious bugs. Main issue is when exiting encounters and moving to a new area, the framerate tanks until everything loads, should've let the loading screen stay up for longer while it loads things in the background. Game looks great though and seems pretty free of bugs, which shouldn't be too surprising because it's pretty story driven and there are not that many ways to interact with things.

I got this while it was in early access, very solid turn based combat first person dungeon crawler. Has some puzzle elements in its story dungeons along with trap navigation and managing food. Enemies are a little spongy with how the armor system works but magic can melt enemies pretty fast once it’s broken. Kind of similar to Starcrawlers except Rome instead of space hulks and not as much ability comboing or status effect stacking.

Recommend it.
