Being forced to help my gf in her marker drawing class, I can now truly appreciate your work. The tileable series is sick. Dragon age seems to be shaping out great as well. haddedam posted:Being forced to help my gf in her marker drawing class, I can now truly appreciate your work. i'm impressed by the subtle pinky nail! and i hope you're both enjoying the marker drawing class! i use them pretty differently than how i learned marker rendering in college, so i'd be interested to hear what kind of methods she's learning. eg, when i was in school, my professors hated brush tips, and now i only ever use brush tips.  i really need to get a better scanner. this one keeps disappearing and/or lightening pinks. irl the light pink / purple are way closer in value to the light blue / teal but here it looks so disparate.

We didn't take a class together, I was just helping her finish her work for a side course. She is in architecture so she was taught masking, straight lines. She has a mix of incredebly bad chinese knock off markers and I also got her some good brush tip copics. The paper we chose was for acrylic so the end result was awful and large format meant markers kept running out. I hated every second of it and only my sense of duty kept me going. Brush tips on good papwr are very nice tho but I still prefer my ink brush and watercolor portable water brush with some ink in it, as they are so much cheaper and refillable. My gf of course loves markers

She has a mix of incredebly bad chinese knock off markers and I also got her some good brush tip copics. i just use standard bond/printer paper now (mostly out of laziness) but i used almost exclusively bienfang graphics 360 back in college. it's excellent at keeping crisp edges and not suckin up the juice too badly.
