Anyone in Canada ever use one of those Kraft pizza kits? The cheese is literally just loving powdered parmesan. And I dunno where that sauce comes from. It’s tangy as gently caress and gives me heartburn every time - I don’t even get heartburn normally.

I feel like France had some kind of peak of worldwide cultural influence that they've fallen far from over the last century or so, and they put a whole lot of effort into trying to perpetuate the old idea of France's cultural prominence that they usually fall short of. French food I mostly don't see much in general aside from the general practices that descended from France long ago but now plenty of people do it. I think the high-class image of French cuisine might've discouraged adaptation of it for like mass market chains, and we certainly haven't had many big waves of French immigrants in the last 50 years to popularize lower class French cooking. A lot of French-Americans come here too indirectly to be properly French-French by the time they're here anyways.
