Which Hummer. The H1 (original) Hummer and the new EV are loving gigantic. Literally the largest passenger vehicle on the road.
The H2 and LOL H3 are "Tahoe" and "Trailblazer" respectively.

It's 80-loving-7 inches wide. Granted, that's only 6" wider than a Silverado, but still noticable.
Jesus Christ how did this come to be? My 1970 Olds Cutlass is only 76.2" wide including the door handles. A squarebody is 79.6" sans any mirrors, so new pickup is actually about the same. Mainly taller, and a *much* higher hood line/grille (as that video posted in the Terrible Cars thread detailed.)

The H3 is actually slightly smaller than a Trailblazer, it shares more with the first-gen Colorado/Canyon than the TB.

Let's see, if force = mass x acceleration, 9000 pounds = 19,800 kg, 0-60 MPH in 3.1s = uh...

1 mile per second = 5280 ft/s = 1609.3 m/s

so... 1906.3 m/s in 3.1s = 519 m/s2

Force = 19800 x 519 = 10.3 Million Newtons? Did I do that right? Approximations of course. I can't be arsed to look up the exact weight.

I have no idea how much force that really is, but I assume that it's enough to take a fair amount of Armco with it when it plows into the railing.

A kilo’s heavier than a pound, .454 kg/lb. And 60 miles per hour is 26.8 m/s. You forgot to convert to miles per second first. So much much lower, appx 35kN, 7940 lbf. Momentum is another story.

If it’s anything like my Mark IV, the mirrors aren’t even the widest part of the car. It’s about 80” wide at the arches and maybe 74” at the mirrors.

While very few Camry buyers opted for the V6, the Lexus ES came with the V6 standard. It'll be trivially easy to buy an ES, especially in the state of Florida.

Well aware. However it's pretty soft, more of a grandpa car and the dashboards are wacky. I like the more sporty interior and simple dash in the XSE Camrys much better and the dampers are tuned a bit tighter, I'd like the least amount of float as possible lol.

Also alternatively put different shocks in the ES, a 10-12 year old car is very likely due for a suspension refresh anyway.

I just want a plain and simple cheapish sedan that has the 3.5 V6 in it, with a simple dash layout before things started getting dumb with touch screens. I really like the sporty-ish XSE black interiors (with alcantera seats and door panels! lol) but it seems that 80% of them are all four cylinders.

And if I got a Lexus I'd just get the GS, no point getting the ES if I'm gonna go that route.

My wife just got a new IS350F and I really like that motor now :v:

They reduced the fender flare while making the car larger/squarer for ‘77-79. They leaned real hard into right angles, with curves reserved for the ol trunk bulge alone. The mirror is still the widest part, though thankfully there’s only one. I think it sits around 83” wide with the mirror.

OK, so I got that right in the first place. Man, fatigue from the damned tooth infection is killing me. I know this stuff, really!

I did muster enough energy to start refurbishing the trailer I brought home over the weekend. Cut some extraneous rusty bolts off that used to hod the decking, etc., straightened both fenders out (one was really mangled, but actually came around OK) and got started on surface rust removal for painting.

It got dark, but I got like 1/4 of it wire brushed and Rustoleum Rust Resolver coated:

I somehow did not take pictures - before or after - or the fenders.
