before, when we said we'd delete your information, we were lying. we lied so we could extort you later. but now, this time, we'll definitely delete it once you pay us.

i mean yeah i wouldn't bother regardless... pretty sure a lawyer would be able to argue that it's inadmissible because you have no way of verifying that they didn't make up all that. Maybe you'd have to stop dealing though

But if they leak all of it then that’s the end of it. If they redact the people who paid, then they can blackmail them again next year. If you pay a blackmailer then you are proving that you’ll pay to keep this information suppressed so there’s no reason for them to stop.

the most interesting bit about this kickstarter article is that there's apparently an internal estimate that 18% of their revenue comes from fraud they publicly deny this, naturally quote:Because of Kickstarter’s mechanics, projects can achieve full funding—and Kickstarter will receive its cut—with no intention of ever launching. Some users will also make small pledges on the platform to test out stolen credit cards. As Fortune learned, one internal estimate puts the amount of revenue that comes from fraudulent projects as high as 18%—a concern echoed by past actions from different states’ attorneys general and the Federal Trade Commission, who have targeted Kickstarter scams in their investigations. (Kickstarter itself has not been charged in these lawsuits or complaints.) A spokesperson denied the estimate and said the company has implemented “extensive measures” to address fraud, including new detection software and processes.

All this fraud and high level crypto people going to prison recently for fraud seems bullish for bitcoin because that means they got all the the rug pullers, right? Nothing to see here except legitimate market action, I'd imagine!

Instead of mods holding the monopoly on giving Seraph attention by setting forum policy especially for Seraph can we instead think of this as everybody else in the thread is extremely tired of everyone thinking they are owning the stalker by reverse stalking him. As guilty as I was of this in the past, at least I am tired of that and just want to hear about scams and dumb business decisions. It's just bad posting all around and can be moderated as such instead of treating it like the bye bye man.
