Just in case this is a serious question: kids who were in roughly 2nd-10th grade (no idea what this is in furriner speak, basically 6-15 year olds) when Covid hit were tremendously stunted in their learning progress. They lost at least a year and perhaps two of progress, which depending on what grade they were in at the time has created a set of time bombs over the next 15 years or so as these children progress into the workforce. I'm not in education, to be clear, but I'm told by teacher friends that these kids are basically two or three grade levels back and don't really have a chance of catching up - we're talking 10-12 year olds who can't read and because the education system in this country is simply not set up to fail entire classes at once and make them ALL repeat grades, they're all essentially being force-graduated and every teacher who encounters them has to do the best they can to help them catch up before sending them on their way to continue failing. I'm sure people in this thread who are actually in education can give a more clear assessment, but yeah, if you're a manager at a workplace in 10 years you should be expecting your new employees to all be gigantic morons, and unlike every generational complaint ("millenaials dont want to work BLERRUGHG!") this will actually have some truth to it and reason behind it. Anyway just another wonderful thing to look forward to, brought to you or at least greatly exacerbated by your favorite president (ME!). edit: christ, awful snipe. here:

According to Trump, the only state where mail-in balloting is acceptable is Florida. This is the only one that does it correctly. At least that was the story in 2020, when he voted by mail. Perhaps now, it’s forbidden for all of Florida except for places like the Villages and similar places… old folks (grapes!)
