i mean i think keats does make a pretty major assumption when he thinks "scum captains would not be told that other people received their roles in a certain way" i'd assume that captains get role powers and captain status assigned to them all at once personally but it's good enough for d1 probably

I do think it's a big jump to think that, for several reasons. We all know when we were told our alignment, and it was with ample time prior to day 1 starting. Scum would have certainly already be talking and exchanging role information. It's *very* hard to believe that that discussion happens without the captain learning (directly or implicitly) that the roles are not connected to alignment, and that their team had gotten the roles before put in scumchat. But how easy is it to believe that a non-captain makes such an obvious mistake that literally every non-captain player should intrinsically know? Seeing how TPC makes that mistake, we know that it happened (unless he was pretending). This outcome is nearly inconceivable as either captain or non-captain
