BioWare was definitely a pioneer in bringing embarrassing cgi sex to the west. They eased us in with “fade to black” stuff in older games like KotOR, before moving on to awkwardly animated blue woman sex in Mass Effect. Best part of Mass Effect 2 was the doctor warning you about all the reasons having sex with aliens is a terrible idea like LSD saliva or lethal allergic reactions to blowjobs.

Yeah and each Bioware/Mass Effect game had whole articles written about it and people debating whether it is appropriate for games. Also it's typically a relationship score with an RPG party memeber thing. But now that I'm thinking about it I guess other genres can't really do anything about it. Like I wouldn't want my command and conquer barracks produce soldiers with their pants off, and Resident Evil games are clearly a "not the time" situation.

witcher 3 had good romance because they were all established characters instead of your self insert protagonist picking your favourite character and picking all the "lets have sex" options until you get a cutscene witcher 1, not so much

Saturns were being sold for $25 a pop at my funcoland and I still have copies of poo poo like galactic attack, Albert odyssey, guardian heroes and so on which I purchased for literally a couple bucks each and now appear to be worth hundreds of dollars I mostly play on the mister now though that poo poo RULES and any turbo game nerds in here should look into the mister fpga if you haven't heard of it yet.

The TurboGraphx/PC Engine/PC Turbo got a bit of a revival in the late 00’s when Nintendo put a ton of its games on the Wii VC. It’s how I became a fan of the system anyway. If you’re a fan of Schmups you’re aware of the system at least. The Jaguar not so much. But to be honest it’s because it was a piece of crap with nothing worth playing. So of course it’s forgotten. I’m not a fan of most of the Saturns library or especially its controller, but it at least still had redeeming features, though I think most of the nostalgia for it comes more from contrarianism than not.

My best friend growing up had a Saturn, it was kinda off kilter and weird given everyone else got a playstation but we had a bunch of fun playing Saturn Megamix and Nights, he refused to ever get a Panzer Dragoon game despite my insistence it was the reason to own a Saturn To be fair I've still never played a Panzer Dragoon to this day Years later the same friend suggested a trade of my £10 cash, £10 of hashish and PS2 copy of Escape from Monkey Island for his Gameboy Advance, carry case, copy of Simpsons Road Rage and about half a dozen original gameboy games including Links Awakening, Tetris and my personal favourite gameboy game - Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 also heinously scratched my PC disc of Earthworm Jim 1 for some reason I can't even remember, it did literally nothing to the game lmao

Dark Souls 3 is good fun but it likes to put you in movement slowing amounts of water too much and I just kinda wish it would knock it off because that isn't fun ever. Also I think I found the Daughter of Chaos's corpse and I dunno if I should be sad or relieved.

The Saturn was where you wanted to be for King of Fighters '95, X-Men vs Street Fighter and a few other good 2d titles like Guardian Heroes and the series-high Saturn Bomberman. It had a niche, its just that niche was becoming deeply unfashionable at the time. The likes of NiGHTs and Burning Rangers were cool, but Sega has a fatal habit of releasing stuff that felt like neat proofs of concept rather than actual games into the Dreamcast era.
