STEMlords stay losing Yeah I appreciate Takoha for just being a genuine dude who loves art and wants to help out. He's not a particularly heroic figure or anything, and he's in way over his head, but he's still gonna do what he can

This quote encompasses everything I know about 1800s Denmark: “I have just now come from a party where I was its life and soul; witticisms streamed from my lips, everyone laughed and admired me, but I went away — yes, the dash should be as long as the radius of the earth's orbit ——————————— and wanted to shoot myself.” ― Søren Kierkegaard So yes, excited to learn more!

I was expecting Tiger, Tiger to be one of those comics like Lavender Jack where race and sexual identity don't exist in any real way so it's nice to see part of it being about a guy who meets a big bearded gay dude who helps him navigate homosexuality in a time when the gay male identity is inaccessible to most of the population. I know it's a cliche to talk about Moby Dick just because it's a comic about boats and big sea monsters but it would have been the Great American Gay Novel if Melbourne had access to the gay male identity when he wrote it, the first thing that happens in it is two guys get married in a totally nonsexual way that just means they're best friends and soulmates who sleep in the same bed together sometimes. also souboutei is still great lol, of course the goofy airhead manga artist accidentally makes friends with the haunted portait artist and unknowingly talks his way out of having his soul be eaten by demons

One Day Outing Foreman chapter 35: Beautiful Dream (Finale) You know, that's a little interesting - how often in these kinds of stories does the person trapped in the time loop have something as dreadful as being trapped in an underground prison camp on the other end of the loop?

It's a pretty frequent occurrence today. Nä, nej, nähä are all used as "oh" or "wow" and such, in addition to no. Also sometimes used basically as yes, answering for example "nej vad trevligt" (no how nice) when asked to go out for coffee just means yes. Tone is very important of course.

It's still a common phrasing in modern Scandinavian, as an indication of mild surprise or interest. Kinda like "you don't say," or maybe "no, really?" depending on intonation.
