Absolutely, these are some of my fav bands, they have their own unique take for sure. I love Thin Lizzy and those bands, but this stuff reminds me of some other stuff. I hear some Boston in there for example, and Journey. Looking to scratch a musical itch I guess. Since this stuff has either synth or a layered emotional orchestration to go with the hard rock etc, or I guess just a uniquely cool to me mix of songwriting for hard rock. Also, know any classic rock songs that do a bass line thing like that first song, Like A Fire? I'm sure that style of emotional rock song with a bass line in focus like that is a thing I've heard, but I can't think of one offhand. Lonely Sea The Warmth of the Sun, which gets a lot of its emotion from the JFK assassination. Nobody's quite sure if it was already started before Kennedy was killed or right after, but they finished it soon after. Well drat that killed the thread for a bit. Ok now I want some good modern rock n roll that's not too cheesy or heavy. Stuff like Masters of Reality, The Supersuckers, Franz Ferdinand (yeah I know they're post punk or whatever but they got riffs and good steady beats) usually do it for me.

Their early stuff is punk, their middle era is indie, but The Woods is rock and the best album of the 2000s. After that listen to No Cities to Love and One Beat. If you want more raw, punk sound, Call the Doctor and Dig Me Out. Thanks everyone for the many good suggestions. Karate, early White Stripes, some Arctic Monkeys, and Superchunk are the closest to the sound I'm looking for so far. I guess I am in fact looking for something a little harder. Or something with more swagger, bigger riffs and guitar solos. A bunch of what yall have suggested is what I tend to pigeonhole as indie rock. Sleater-Kinney (I really liked The Woods!), The Strokes, and the handful of newer bands, other Arctic Monkeys. Although The Mysterines is getting bookmarked, they've got my attention. The harder indie stuff is the sound of college for me, and I do appreciate it and come back to it. Goons are always good for getting entirely new stuff onto my playlists, I appreciate all of you. I'm still leaning more Gluecifer, Nashville Pussy, Nine Pound Hammer, Turbonegro I guess. Anyhow thanks all of you, I still have a bunch of new stuff to check out and will.

I have a playlist full of music to listen to on nighttime walks and it needs fresh blood. I don't really care what genre and I don't know how exactly to describe what I'm looking for but some albums just sound like nighttime albums, you know? Lo-fi, moody, ethereal, nighttime music.
