The Devil's Sword. At 9minutes the film will shift tone and you will know if you're fully onboard or not.

At 48 minutes and 38 seconds (?) you will see something no other film has dared to show you and will never dare to show you again for exactly 2 seconds.

Yeah honestly, that's true more often than not. A few people like a thing and wonder "why don't more people like this?" and the reason is it's just not very good. And their continued failure to make this thing popular just increases their devotion. I don't know if the first person to coin the term meant it to be tongue-in-cheek, but there is legitimately some of the same mindset there as an actual cult.

I feel like a cult classic should be something that has some kind of creative merit, but for whatever reason was not really suitable to gain a mass audience. The only problem with matrix 4 there is the first part

Captain Kronus is a cult film, as seen by later getting a comic book limited series written by Dan Abnett. Its, objectively, not a very good movie and blows so many fun things it sets up but its also got some super weird and fun vampire stuff that make you feel what could have been.

In summary, I plan to acquire the license and make the shittiest Tubi tier remake youve ever seen.

Probably a good time.

What makes the Rocky Horror people so annoying is they're allowed to go act out the movie at the front and they all have a script full of audience responses to the movie. No such things for Big Lebowski.

I went to one of those rocky horror screenings in high school and it was so insufferable I left after the first 45 minutes. People are such weirdo prima donnas acting it out.

I’m getting big “we’re just going to dump this and move on” energy from The Acolyte. Like they already realized that it’s Book of Boba Fat level trash and they’re barely even bothering to promote it. It was announced four years ago and only just got an extremely vague teaser trailer two months before release.

I'm not getting that feeling. A teaser two months before is on schedule for hype building. A proper trailer that actually tells you something about the plot will come in a month. A second one will come a few days before the launch. The lag time in its development indicates to me that they didn't want to rush it.

The bottom line is that this is the big coming-out party for the high republic. If this show flops, the entire effort to establish the era with a ton of books and comics will have been a waste. We all know that the only things that actually matter are the stuff on film. If it's a success, high republic stuff will take over as the time period for most major releases in the next ten years. They've got to know how much is riding on it.

There's a scene in The Rundown where the Rock fights a group of guys with whips and it actually looks pretty good and I would be happy if they hired stunt people who could actually do whip stuff and make it work. But also most of the cool stuff you can do with a whip I don't think you could do with a lightsaber whip since lightsabers just slice through everything they touch.

I think Matrix 4 will become a cult classic because it was bad on purpose. That doesn't make it worthwhile or defensible because it is complete poo poo but I do think it was intentional.

It bothers me that Stuart Little the book Stuart is a human who looks exactly like a mouse but the book, very painfully, makes it clear he is still a human and now I must wonder all my days was this the book Shintaro Shuji was forced to read as a child for foreign education so that he could one day vehemently claim that Hello Kitty is not in fact a cat, but a little british girl.
