The Jets getting rid of Bryce Huff wasn't a money issue. They just don't think he's that good. They are going to sign a guy for a higher cap hit than Huff has this season lol

Still hopeful. Also ok with pivoting for Hasan Reddick if this doesn’t work out.

There is no CHANCE Douglas would give the Eagles picks for a pass rusher after letting Huff walk and sign with the Eagles. No way.

Clowney would be a nice get. He’s still really solid player. It would be like impossible to run on a front with him, Quinnen, Johnson, and JFM.

Cloowney fits thheir current roster more than Reddick does imo. Though I think you can get Reddick for very cheap.

I think you can probably mix things up with Clowney more than you're able to with Huff because he has such a high floor against the run. Huff is obviously the far better/exciting pass rusher, but they could do some fun stuff with Clowney on the field that they might not have been able to do with Huff.

This doesnt seem like enough (for his side) when you consider that the Metlife turf is going to end his season by week 3.

Is the metlife turf actually worse than others or does it just have a higher casualty count from being played on twice as often

There was an SIS report from a year ago that had Metlife in the top 5 for injuries per game. I think it was 2017-2022.

Great signing for essentially 8m for a receiver of that caliber. If his injury ruined him it’s a whatever bet but if he’s back, he’s a stud and will be a great addition.

Huff over Clowney imo

I don't think there is any group of players that could overcome the level of incompetence and cluelessness that the Jets are dealing with in their coaching staff, front office and ownership. They will destroy any chance this season has of being successful.

It's because the league is set up to make it very easy for bad teams to get good and push everyone towards .500. To be the level of bad the Jets have been for as long as they have been takes such an exceptional level of incompetency and mismanagement that if you aren't a jets fan, it's going to be funny.

The Bills obviously had their massive playoff drought and sustained mediocrity, but the Dick Jauron, Chan Gailey, Doug Marrone, et al eras were largely forgettable.

Adam Gase started his tenure with the crazy eyes and was already a hilariously bad hire that only happened because of Peyton Manning and it had Sam Darnold seeing ghosts and catching mono, and it is STILL only at best the third funniest Jets tenure of the past couple decades.

Yeah, I agree. The Browns, Lions, and Bills stretches were probably all worse than the Jets' current stretch purely from a football standpoint, but the Jets are very dumb in a very loud way that feels uniquely Jets and makes everything that much worse.

The Butt Fumble, the Cruz 99 yard TD, TEBOW, Geno Smith getting his jaw broken, Christian Hackenberg, hiring Adam Gase, the press conference, Darnold's mono, seeing ghosts, beating the Rams to blow the tank in 2020, Zach Wilson #2 overall, the 2022 meltdown, Aaron Rodgers' achilles, Zach Wilson meltdown #2.

Yeah, the Bills were grindingly mediocre(and mostly dull as dishwater) for almost 20 years, the Browns were/are depressing (but now nobody likes them, for obvious reasons), as were the Lions (everybody loves the knee-cap chewing LOINS).

But the Jets? The Jets are sad in a funny way. Like, they're slapstick (slapdick?) comedy. At least...to outsiders.

Vontae Davis retiring mid-game was a Jets tier laugh. And the Bills have suffered in being losers in completely unbelievable fashions these past several years that no one else can hold a candle to (Hail Murray, 13 seconds, JJ catch, Wide Right II, probably three or four more I forgot).

The Dolphins drafting the Ted Ginn family is in that category as well. Most of the noteworthy bad things I associate with the Dolphins are a bit darker, though—Richie Incognito, letting Tua play on a short week with a concussion, Pat White being demolished, etc.

The Patriots obviously mostly just spent the past two decades winning Super Bowls but the post-Brady years I guess have been Jets-esque. Hiring Matt Patricia as OC and the Mac Jones saga and such.
