The stock may go to the moon, or it may go to zero, because it has no fundamentals and is being held up by spiraling cultists. No rational bank would accept the promise of any amount of it in exchange for $175 million dollars, in the same way that no bank so far has given him $464 million in exchange for the promise of his properties He is also not allowed to even try to do that for six months, pending additional legal wrangling that will most likely take more than 10 days if it hasn't even started yet

I’m not saying they won’t, but the board has a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders, who bought the stock knowing there was a lock in. In theory they should only drop the lock in if it will be to the benefit of the shareholders. If they do it and he sells and it tanks, then the board can be sued. He’s got the board stacked but it’ll be a bit of a gut check whether they want to go down with the ship or pray he wins the election and can make all that go away.

Trump has made it abundantly clear for his entire life that there is no such thing as justice in this country, but I gotta say - I am somehow still shocked every time it happens. Not just the monetary reduction, but the elimination of the other provision that prevented him from doing business in New York, I really am just... I don't know, not quite surprised.

In case you're not joking, this strategy is called appeasement and it always allows bad actors to make things worse at every level. It is historically proven to be safer to enforce laws and confront legal/political threats directly rather than letting things slide. If the other side is going to start a civil war because of laws being legally enforced, they were going to do so anyways and they don't actually care who starts it.
