I know a number of people who fall asleep while watching stuff on their phone, the phone never enters any kind of sleep mode. These people also all have bad sleep schedules.

A lot of people benefit from simple sleep hygiene improvements but a lot of people are also unwilling to break habits. Like not being on the computer until the last second or not following any kind of sleep schedule

I work a physically demanding job and I have no screens or LEDs in my bedroom I fall asleep in about 5 minutes and I get about 8 hours of sleep a night

Ya but the fact that you are defending that they are meta-studies is exactly "knowing enough to cause trouble." All the studies could be verifiably true and an expert could still be like "oh yeah, but like that doesn't matter at all compared to doing X and Y behavior." Need the scope of domain knowledge not just meta-studies

Sure I'm not arguing the data isn't best interpeted by an expert, just that they represent an analysis of hundreds of studies, not a couple randomly selected papers.

When our daughter was born we ran a white noise machine for her. Once she was sleeping through the night we got one for us, it gave my wife the best sleep ever and absolutely trashed mine. I have the best drat sleep when the room is below 16°c and I have a weighted blanket.

i will continue to have audio on when i sleep because it beats the infernal ringing and it already works for me like i mentioned before, my current sleep issues have nothing to do with background noise and just the fact that i'm a pushover when the cat is crying at my door to come in because they'll sit there for a half hour if they need to. they know i'm weak

Honestly I think it's worth pointing out again that Quinton wasn't badly regarded here when he was doing the Fallen Titan videos or when he was doing Garfield road trips and finding lost Garfield comics. He's not an irretrievably awful youtuber, he's just spent so loving long making the blandest poo poo that might as well have been read directly from Wikipedia for all the opinion and insight it offered. At the end of a four hour video by hbomb or Noah Gervais you know their opinion on something and how they arrived at it. At the end of a Quinton video now you know he's definitely watched the thing the video is about.

i hated quinton after watching his fallen titans video about Tobiscus where he spent 15 minutes of a 30 minute video sullenly looking down and to the left of the camera talking about how he wasn't even sure if he was gonna post the video after The Allegations Against Tobiscus and then never actually talking about what the allegations against Tobiscus were
