These are the warrants, they can't be redeemed yet (about a month or so until they can be) they can be converted into a share for $11.50, so they should be roughly 11.50 less than where people think the stock will be in a month.

I went through all this in 2000 when the company I was with went IPO

We all thought we were going to be rich, we gave the max allowed discounted stock options to our friends and family members, we were all braced for a rocket ship ride TO DA MOOON, all the marketing guys were showing each other pictures of the BMWs they were about to buy as soon as the stock went public

On IPO day it rocketed up from $16 to $79 and we all popped champagne and it was an incredible time, some people cashed out but most decided to hold, why quit now?

Then the next day it dropped down to $40 and slllllloooooowwwwwly declined over the subsequent three years to about $25

I have never paid attention to the stock market again since then lmao

No, but the poor news still drives conversations towards negative tone, which gets picked up by sentiment analysis algorithms, which translates into sell recommendations, which drives the price further down.

My company at the time went through a real push for people to buy stock with some of their paycheck back in the late 90's, there was a fancy presentation and everything.

I personally didn't invest a penny, as I was in my 20's and spending my paycheck being cool and interesting*, but a lot of people had substantial stock.

So it was an interesting day when it lost half it's value in a single day. Let's just say not a lot of work got done. Company was taken over for a nominal sum a bit later.

*Do not fact check this claim.

Edit: I went and checked and my 25 year old memory was faulty. It wasn't a day for the actual fall. It was 30 minutes.

Wow, it is still in a free fall. It's fun to watch live: https://www.cnbc.com/quotes/DJT

The really interesting number is 37, which is where the stock dropped to when the merger was announced.

People being surprised by this makes me think it's not all true believers and grifters like was mentioned a couple pages ago, but finance bros (and I note that I have recently had experience of such types) literally just think it's a good stock and a good safe financial bet because hey, DONALD TRUMP is involved. Yeah, that rich guy!

Bravely bold Sir Donald
Drove forth from Mar a Lag, oh
He was not afraid to crime,
Oh brave Sir Donald.
He was not at all afraid
To do crime in nasty ways.
Brave, strong, smart, thin Sir Donald.
He was not in the least bit scared
To be laughed into a jail.
Or to have his crimes found out,
And his lustre broken.
To have his diaper split
And his bullshit burned away,
And his tales all hacked and mangled
Brave Sir Donald.
His head tested in
And his Rudy cut out
And his money removed
And his servers unplugged
And his blondes all raped
And his bottom shat off
And his penis
"That's, that's enough music for now lads, there's crime work afoot."
Brave Sir Donald ran away.
("No!")
Bravely ran away away.
("I didn't!")
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
("I never!")
Yes, brave Sir Donnie turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
("You're lying!")
Swiftly taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the brave, Sir Donnie!
