Literally never heard of this in my life…ahh it’s a 3DO game.quote:Russel Pflughaupt of Any Channel recalled, "We looked at games like Doom, Marathon, and Dark Forces, and took what we felt were their best elements. But we wanted to get away from the tunnel-based feel of those games, so we made the environments in PO'ed very open, and not formulaic at all." Checks out!

I was hoping for Exploding Lips. This isn't far off though. It'll be cool to have a spiffed up version. I only played it on PS1 and its rough, it has some of the worst polygon distortion I've seen on the system (PGXP does nothing to fix it either) and the framerate is pretty abysmal (runs too fast if you overclock). I’ve seen videos of Po’d before. I might pick it up for novelty sake knowing full well how weird and frustrating old console shooters can be. Looking at you Killing Time.

Playing PO'ed on console at like 9 FPS, on a 13" TV, with a cursed button mapping that predates any reasonable layout for console FPS games, on a controller that looks like one of these

Is the 3DO the console where you had to daisy chain the controllers together? P1 connects to the console, P2 connects to P1, etc? That's both super neat and weird as gently caress.

Edit: Wikipedia says they were all like that. You could daisy chain 8 controllers. One iteration had a headphone jack on the controller. Check this really old LGR video: https://youtu.be/hsLfXQUhik8?si=O9i5krNWps7YFJWj Edit: Also worth pointing out is that the earliest 3DO models cost $700 in 1993 dollars. That’s about $1,500 today. PO'd! My friend in Elementary school had it and would talk about it and it was the weirdest sounding game I'd heard of at the time. Wild!

Huh, I think I heard it mentioned in this thread, but I was under the impression PO'd was a Pie in the Sky game. That looks... well, I'll check it out. Aesthetically I like it!

Casimir Radon posted:Yeah. At least with one of the models. 3DO designed the console but licensed actual manufacturing to Panasonic, Goldstar, Sanyo, Creative, and others. I've literally seen 0 3DO in my life but I knew a guy that had the Neo Geo console and then the Neo Geo CD. Hell, by the time the Saturn was around, everyone was getting the first PlayStation in here so the N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube and even OG Xbox were super rare.

In the criminal justice class, the students are represented by two separate, yet equally important groups: gamers, who play games; and the teachers pets, who snitch on the gamers. These are their study halls.

Here's something goofy from the demoscene types: Skilander, a completely new BUILD engine game (ie. it's not a standalone eDuke32 mod) made in four weeks for Revision 2024, featuring four scenic locations to ski down, a bangin' tracker soundtrack, "borrowed" Jill of the Jungle sound effects, and someone attempting to an impersonation of Sean Connery from Highlander trying to imitate a Finnish accent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC190KIkhPY

To whom it may concern, Frogmonster is out. It has your usual line-up of fps weaponry, but honestly the demo felt a little more adventurey. It's......different. Which is kind of the appeal to me. After going through the Ion Fury dlc and Supplice it's nice to get into something more, uh, hoppy, with voxels, and eating flies instead of medkits. I need to finish up another game and get back to it to know how I really feel.

Saw a video praising Carnal, a game I'd never heard of. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXjzfHfoRcc By the video's end, one of the reasons for its obscurity has been revealed. I'll let a Steam review by someone rocking a Zizek avatar speak: LowDialecticalMagic posted:it's like Alex Jones had made a game. I think it's one of those nowadays rare genuine good and interesting right wing art pieces and it's fitting that is a boomershooter, also, the soundtrack its pretty good and sounds like John Carpenter sometimes

Could just be a real lack of media literacy on the part of the reviewer. But it does make things rather suspect.
