Funny how the Raiders would've been the preferred team in either market despite being a dumpster fire the last couple of decades. Even with the Rams having been in LA previously, the populace in general would've definitely preferred the Raiders coming back

The dumbass Raiders could have had all of L.A. to themselves for 20+ years instead of forcing their way back to Oakland and ruining the Coliseum (especially for the A's when they still had decent ownership) all to loving spit on Oakland and leave again anyway. Once they left for L.A. they should have never went back. Apparently they seem to got a free pass from the fans out of Oakland as well. It's all about money. LA didn't come through with promises for luxury suites/renovations to the stadium so Davis hosed off back to Oakland where they hosed off to Vegas after the city wouldn't pay for a new stadium because they had more important things to worry about like infrastructure, education, social services and poo poo like that. I'm from far away so the moving never bothered me but I do always feel bad for local fans who get hosed because the NFL is a club full of greedy assholes that want socialism for themselves while everyone else should be crushed under the boot of capitalism.

I figured he meant the liturgical year but no, that starts with Advent, which is pre-Christmas.

I still respect the Romans for ending the year in December and not starting the new year until March, and think naming January and February were mistakes. Should've left 'em as nameless wastes.

Strong stroll for a mangy stray

Been seeing comments online about how the Vikings are going to draft JJ McCarthy and will probably win a super bowl his first year.

Sometimes people make me question if we are even watching the same sport. Like the Vikings are an okay team but they are not a great one. They have one superstar in Justin Jefferson, a good free agent RB in Aaron Jones and mostly a bunch of JAGs outside of that. They've somehow convinced themselves that Cousins was horrible and with him gone they'll somehow be able to unlock all the amazing talent on the team.

Wouldn't even be surprised if they could talk themselves into Darnold as well

There was a fabulous article in the athletic the other day about butts.

Some funny tidbits include Mike Mayock being the leader of the 'Cult of the Caboose' after referencing players rumps multiple times in draft analysis. That Bill Belichik would watch D linemen run the 40 from behind to see how big their asses were, then sign the biggest-assed players. Denver Broncos head strength coach used to tell 13 year old kids that 'You guys come in here and you have a flat can, then we don't want you'. Another strength coach actually told a friend that his 4 year old son would be strong, and when asked why pointed to his 'posterior chain'.

Some funny euphemisms used in the league include 'woodhauler's rear end', 'high butt factor', 'bully back', and 'coca cola booty'. Apparently the best rear end in this class is Texas DL Byron Murphy.

So obsessing over the bum in the NFL is nothing new, but talking about their back muscles... that's a new one for me.

How many Championships?
The Vikings have cap issues and likely knew they weren't winning anything with Kirk so they decided to let him walk and wanted a QB on a rookie contact so they can pay JJ $35m a year.

There was one from a preseason game, I can’t remember whether it was his rookie year or his second after they traded Alex Smith and he was gonna be the starter, where he had like a 70~ yard pass to Tyreek that I remember being widely discussed everywhere and then boom, it was happening in real games.

I’m sure some Chiefs fan still has a folder of them somewhere.

If it was just for the Chiefs it would have passed. But it was primarily for the royals who had no specific proposal, and don’t actually have a binding proposal on the ballot. Just “give us money trust me bro” while sticking it in an area that would invoke demolishing a bunch of small local businesses instead of building it on the empty parking lots a few blocks away.

Honestly seems like a natural progression to me. If you recognize that the rear end anchors the body, then you look next to the muscle chain that reinforces the torso.

Yeah and there is some hardcore bootlicking going on in all the threads about it. As if the Chiefs would leave KC, they'll just move to the Kansas side and build a gigantic stadium with a roof and have Super Bowls there and everyone will be fine, except some idiots from Raytown who vowed never to go across state line. Some people are big mad about that. It happens all over the country though, just ask Giants fans

Asking lower middle class people to pay for stadiums is some bullshit though. I'd rather they did the sofi thing, make them privately fund it up front and then give them tax breaks later. It's not great but better than taxing the poor.

Football is a religion anyway.

Arrowhead is still leased through 2031, so plenty of time for Mahomes to bring more trophies to the city anyway.

Sport stadiums are some of the biggest scams in America, and that covers a lot of ground. Regressive taxes to fund literal handouts to billionaires. Billionaires, who by the way, you will continue to pay exorbitant fees to each time you use the thing you helped pay to build. Good on the people of KC for having some self respect.

Also tying Chiefs and Royals together and then throwing some half-cocked plan together and pitching it like it's the monorail on the simpsons.

If it's any indication, the Chiefs did not have one representative at the "Yes Party" celebration the Royals put together which had to be the saddest party on a Tuesday in KC.
