Though I do agree that the last season's finale left a bad taste in my mouth, especially after reading the behind the scenes stuff about it. Cyclist guy had it in the bag. I just wonder if it was deliberate sabotage for some reason or total incompetence on the part of the showrunners

Pener Kropoopkin posted:Scooby Doo is a good cartoon because of the music. Mystery Inc. was good. It had an ongoing plot with actual supernatural stuff. One episode had a convention of teen mystery solvers and their weird sidekicks, so you saw Speed Buggy, Captain Caveman, Jabberjaw, and the Funky Phantom. In the final episode the gang change history so that none of the events of the series happened, and the only person besides them who remembers the original history is Harlan Ellison, who invites them to solve mysteries with him.

For a Chinese artist to be sufficiently pro-democracy basically requires them to be a Reddit poster who just says "Pooh? -1000 Social Credit?" repeatedly -- so Badiucao. Though I haven't checked lately and maybe he's now betrayed the movement by saying something like "Fast trains are good".

DaysBefore posted:Parks and Rec is still funny imo doesn't matter that Obamaist Thought failed or that it makes city bureaucrats look like fun-having heroes instead of dead-eyed number crunchers. At least the early seasons it's a situation a lot like American The Office or Friends where at a certain point it becomes too much of its own thing and collapses into itself the first season of P&R has a lot of great bits, and I enjoy most of the run as a whole, even some of the schmaltzier moments (although it does get a little too perfect for most of the characters for my taste by the end, though). If anything turns me cold in the end seasons, it’s not so much the personal politics as just how safely and bland they play things more often than I enjoy. when that senator or whatever turned out to be a total blank slate, that was pretty solid - it’s not surprising that they didn’t take that approach with the real people who showed up, but it still feels like pulled punches to me.

The most pro Chinese show on American television was Silicon Valley. Every time one of the assholes on the show tried to screw over Chinese workers and businessmen, they were the ones that ended up getting hosed over, and it was always presented as a well deserved comeuppance. I vote Game of Thrones as the most Obama era show on television personally.

It's so satisfying to see the siblings in a bind because their own character flaws drive off the deacons/assistant pastors. How will they recover? that was a force ghost? i thought that was actually the mom and her apparently being alive was supposed to set up the fourth season
