I lost half of my thumbnail bed when a drum brake flange nut decided to let go while I had a couple hundred pounds (all of my upper body) on my 2' 1/2" ratcheting breaker bar and it mashed my thumb on the axle tube.

My favorite was loosening an exhaust flange bolt with a box wrench on the nut, using an impact gun on the bolt end. I hit the trigger & in 1/10 second the wrench rotated around, beating the poo poo out of my hand that was laying along the nearby frame before I could release the trigger
My muffler fell off... a few months ago so I went to fix it on Monday now that it wasn't super cold outside. The pipe actually completely broke off after the flange, so the flange remained in place together with the bolts. Which of course were completely rusted and wouldn't budge.

I gave up on the wrench/impact after a few tries and attacked it with a grinder between the flanges. Which worked great except that the bolts are tensioned with springs, which shot out as soon as I cut through and hit me in the goggles that I was thankfully wearing lol.

Lol this is the area i work in but at a smaller scale, i can imagine scrambling down the bank and trying to flip these slippery little fish into the creek... Have had to do it when someone knocked over a bucket of fry/smolts before.

I worry that the creek they accidentally dumped these little guys in to might have major obstructions blocking the estuary or too little oxygen to support so many fish. We always check o2 levels before transfer

Our salmon hatchery being mainly volunteer run, we transfer thousands of fish, sometimes in garbage cans, other times in fish totes, in pickup trucks with air bubblers plugged into the cigarette lighter :) once in the creek or pond they are on their own, though as I said we check the o2 levels of wherever we are putting them so they don't just suffocate after transfer. a nice little waterfall or good flow in the creek would mean these guys end up alright

Yeah that was me trying to get a ball joint out. Turns out the solution was to use a hammer and hit from the side, popped right out. I had the entire wheel hub assembly off the car so I brought it to my anvil which naturally any mechanic of worth has, and a good whack with the 3.5 pounder did it.

The solution is getting another spanner and hooking it onto the first to double the length and increase your leverage.

This is really cool. Making wallpapers for protected historical buildings would be one interesting career choice, probably not one with the most reliable employment or return of investment on the equipment, but if you are really into DYI it would make a nice side job hobby.

Ironhead. Mmm.

My mother's boyfriend does high end wallpaper on Cape Cod for people with way too much money. He works with some of this crazy expensive hand screened stuff. Some of it really is hundreds of dollars a roll and he did an embroidered wallpaper that was something nuts like $1200/roll. I have seen some hand painted silk wall paper for over $4,000/roll, but that's obviously much rarer and used more like accent pieces.

Imagine having kids in that house drawing on your walls.

I follow some artisanal wallpaper / paint makers on instagram, and they're absurdly cool, but insanely expensive. Like cheaper to buy actual art to cover every surface compared to some of the wallpapers
