He already said that Israel was content with living normal westoid consoomer lifestyles, so they are the Truman in the analogy. What doesn't make sense is the savages tearing down screens with machetes. The Truman Show was a fully realized environment inside a massive soundstage. The catch was that Truman could never leave his hometown. I think Bennet is getting his metaphors mixed up with The Wizard of Oz.
