"I chew places like this up and spit them into the toilet."

Mike's disbelieving little laugh and "why?" just kill me every time.

I think that part of the reason MST3K jokes can hit me harder than Rifftrax is how mean the riffs can get in Mike eps. I still consider it a time and place kind of tone though. Very 90s. But it's still funny that they went there. Not all jokes, of course.

Wow, looks like Bruce Campbell actually shaved his head for Icebreaker. Holy poo poo what a movie to do it for.

E:

Speaking of Icebreaker. Now, I'm not a bad movie maker (I mean, I'm sure I would be, but I am not employed as a bad movie maker) but surely even these dipshits knew they were making a bad Die Hard ripoff, or worse a bad ripoff of an already bad Die Hard ripoff. What on earth would then make them underline it by using loving ODE TO JOY, you know, the song Die Hard movies have famously used, in its opening.

Did they think they were being clever?

E2: Oh my god the movie was made by the Time Chasers guy.

Bruce Campbell was absolutely a guy who should have taken off as a 90s action comedy guy. I think his movies are better because he stayed in a weird low-budget ghetto, but it was just chance that he never starred in like, The Mummy.

I skied Killington probably once a year growing up, it makes watching Icebreaker an even more surreal experience.

Have you seen Pressure Point, Arachnia or Radical Jack? They're all Edgewood movies of similar repute who've gotten the Rifftrax treatment. All special in their own unique ways.

I seem to recall but cannot verify now Bruce showing up with shaven head was a surprise to everyone else too. Plus everybody in the cast and crew was making fun of Sean Astin who kept hyping up this movie about jewelry or whatever he was doing.

Finding out the Edgewood oeuvre went beyond Time Chasers through Rifftrax was magical. Same with James Nguyen and Birdemic really.
