There are lots of types of brushes, or brooms. For outdoor grass stuff you don’t want anything too thick as then it would take longer and need more force so a soft broom would be better.

For indoor cleaning on hard floors then a deck scrubber is best. For outdoor cleaning of mud and grime then a stiff brush is best.

Brushes are probably the item type in a house where you have the most variety: Hair, Toilet, Tooth, Glass, Dish, shoe cleaning and aforementioned other brushes.

So yes, there are many brushes.

If you are just sweeping up from a smoothish patio a yard brush may be too stiff. Get a medium industrial brush or something.
