Bring back Matthew Perry in season 2, I don't care if he's dead, make him a CGI ghoul, it's what he would've wanted.

counterfeitsaint posted:5 seasons is respectable. Not everything needs to last so long it becomes a husk of it's original premise. Of course, it's 10-episode seasons and half-hour episodes, so in pure length it's comparable to about 2.5 seasons of The Simpsons or like, 1 season of a normal Trek show. But probably not as many bad episodes I guess.

Mulaney Power Move posted:From what I've read, there are conflicting reports of whether or not it's actually a comedy or in earnest. Probably both. Okay, just got back from Sasquatch Sunset at the Alamo Drafthouse (which had a live Q&A with one of the directors/stars Nathan Zellner). It is funny, and would probably best be classified as a comedy, but honestly it's more of an extended mood piece. Literally not a single word is spoken during the entire movie. Jay would call it "borderline experimental", if not just full-on experimental. If you see it, I can guarantee that it will be the weirdest movie you see all year by a very large margin. Also, based on the Q&A, this production was absolutely blessed by some divine spirit. They had 21 days to shoot a movie that takes place entirely outdoors over four distinct seasons, and they managed to get enough of the right weather to pull all of it off.

Actors get very confused when they see themselves dead onscreen, they can’t help it. Especially if they’re good actors and play a believable corpse. Sometimes they need to be talked down from their panic like you would soothe a skittish horse.

i havent seen the movie. i watched twin peaks in i think 2013 but i actually gave up like 3 episodes from the end because season 2 was becoming such a loving slog and i just couldnt be bothered so i stopped watching and didnt ever see the last ep that lynch directed or fwwm or the new season or anything even though i really liked twin peaks up to that point but it had already blown its load with the killer reveal and gone off the rails that for me in 2013 i just didnt care anymore. i just wasnt at age when it was airing but man what an experience that must have been. closest parallel for me would be LOST

Does Fallout have a couple good one-off episodes I can sample? Like the only 2 good episodes in Westworld S2 are one-offs. I think the problem of Fallout the vidya game for me is they use the 50s aesthetics very artificially.

It doesn't look like the new Ghostbusters movie is going to gross much more than about 200 million, has it finally happened? Has 3 straight box office busts finally convinced Sony to leave this franchise in the grave?

There's an overarching plotline in the show so none of the episodes are truly standalone, unfortunately. Maybe watch Episode 2, though? That one is where three of the main storylines intersect for the first time.
