Thanks for all you thoughts you all. I'm gonna make a huge effort post will all of his most beautiful pictures, but right now I'm too drained for that. But yeah, apparently Joris had a ticking time bomb in him. He had been snoring for years, we would make jokes about it. His breathing would sound more snoring even when awake for a while now, and I was mildly concerned about it at the last checkup. They thought it was a respiratory infection, but it was his vocal chords getting tighter and tighter. They only noticed it at the last operation to save his life, but even if we had noticed it earlier there's not much we could do about it. We gave him the life we could, and I'm very glad I could share him with all of you. Hug your cats everybody.

RIP Joris. Taken from us too soon. I haven't posted much since Tara died, but still check in regularly. Long story, but my ex informed me that WillowTara's sister has passed too. She was 20+ years old. She had a great life.

They somehow fit their characters in my mind so we had no reason to change them. Jorts is an excellent name too.

Someone on Bluesky I follow the other day pointed out that you can’t go wrong using any kind of food as a cat name and I kind of agree. I have Babaganoush and Farfale as potential next cat names
