The copyright on these Phoebe strips says 2021, so I presume this is a rerun of that storyline.

Ok a few things. I really appreciate them using a real fish a kid could catch in this example and the bones and eyes are even more or less oriented right but flounders are almost always in four filet pieces due to the strangeness of their anatomy.

Example. Cut along the backbone while layed flat then work the knife sideways and repeat for opposite side. Then flip the fish and repeat for the pale side.

Also …. He just expelled for bringing a knife to school.

that is the correct reading of the facts but the tone I got from reading the strip is that we are supposed to look at it and say Hector is wrong for complaining when his dad has it worse.

All I have to support this is my gut reading of the strip and thinking that the way this comic is usually structured is that the last panel is supposed to be the punchline so idk

The new Flash Gordon has good character work in general, but Bok is a standout. Hope he's going to stay in the core cast.

It's a fairly safe guess that it's referring to stocking up on supplies in case the Y2K computer crash threw the world into chaos, hence the character having all the canned food. I'm not sure where the "meeting" part comes in though. Maybe Boyce went to some kind of neighborhood informational meeting about emergency preparedness and thought that was a universal experience?

And it "really stuck with him" so he's still hoarding supplies 7 years later.
