Yeah I think The Social Network and.. Soul?!? Are my favourite soundtracks of theirs, but I pretty much all of em. The Watchmen show soundtrack also slaps, that “Life on Mars?” Cover.. rules.

Social Network is best but Gone Girl and Dragon Tattoo are both incredible ambient works Sugar Storm is as good as anything Trent has ever done

“Epiphany” from Soul just makes my neck hair just stand up and shiver, it owns. And “The Great Beyond” is amazing.

"Technically, Missing" from Gone Girl is such a good reveal theme. What a way to enhance the clarity, tension and WTF-factor of the whole scene.

Don't forget the "The Vietnam War" soundtrack, which has about as many bangers as a Ken Burns documentary can conceivably have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMTFnZBiqVU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIBTsUzPrcQ

My wife was so proud of getting me The Fragile on vinyl. She even sprung for The Fragile: Deviations on vinyl! She had already purchased Deviations on vinyl for me years before for an anniversary gift, and forgot. Rather than just straight up sell it, does anyone here want to swap records? It’sa four LP set, so I’m looking for something equivalent. I’m hoping for the 2017 remaster of The Downward Spiral, or the 2010 remaster of Pretty Hate Machine plus something else. But open for other offers.

I saw Challengers and it was just okay. Hearing the score on a Dolby Atmos system was fantastic, though. Compress/Repress sounded great at the end.

FYI if you're looking for the full Challengers score on YouTube Music, it's posted with no artist (other than "Release - Topic"), for Google Only Knows what reason. https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_l2miOcGwVu-TaCYh8I97XcY8iuiI35ouk&si=UlseDl0TLNmpMgsO A bit surprised that it's only about 10 minutes longer than the "mixed" version and occasionally gets interrupted by sound clips. Not sure which version I prefer yet. EDIT: Okay I was not expecting that choral piece. EDIT 2: For those wondering, most of the mixes are indeed different between the 2 versions, including "Compress/Repress". The first few songs sound mostly the same but the later ones are more noticeable. More of a normal Reznor sound. Sir Lemming fucked around with this message at 15:05 on Apr 26, 2024 |

Listening to the longer score now and I absolutely prefer the flow of the Boys Noize one to this. e: God, I love that duet between Trent and Mariqueen "All is lust (All is lust), all is lost (all is lost) , all is lost, inside us" line from the end of Compress/Repress Rageaholic fucked around with this message at 19:28 on Apr 26, 2024 |

She helped me in a rush get my son buckled into his car seat. Then I drove him to day care, turned on the album, heard the alarm and was so confused I thought my wife’s phone had fallen from her pocket and was in my car somewhere while she was on a train.

I have no idea what a Fortnite Festival is or when it happened, but apparently you can get multitracks for March of the Pigs and Less Than from it. (Or from nindestruct.com for your convenience.) https://twitter.com/Cageab1/status/1784605107268604410?t=__Fgh2g5ju8OxcEJJf14mA&s=19 MOTP was already available from Rock Band but not LT. The quality is also higher here, since RB had to contend with quite a bit more space limitations. Perhaps more interestingly, MOTP includes a version of the "All the pigs, all lined up" coda that I don't think I've ever heard before. (Unfortunately it also completely mutes "take the skin and peel it back" because I guess that's considered too graphic.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2zjbxAOUNg Maybe I'm the only one who missed this whenever it first came out, but in case I'm not, there it is. Saw Challengers again in a theatre with better PQ and sound, and it's so good. Having listened to the remix album so much I kept on going "no don't stop the music there, it's just getting to the good bit!", especially in the final scenes where the music keeps cutting in and out, teasing us. I do think the remix album works better as a continuous bit of music so will probably be listening to that a lot more in future. Anyway, I could see the people sat next to me starting to get into it and tapping their feet during the last 20 minutes.

The Fragile was the first NIN album I bought but With Teeth was the first one I followed the agonizing wait for. I just pulled it up on my phone and realized I must have first ripped it when I got an ipod because it's missing half the songs and I would only rip my favorite songs to fit the smaller storage sizes. I know I ripped the rest at some point but I guess those tracks ended up in a different folder and were lost during a hard drive transfer. Guess I know what I'll be doing tonight!

WT has aged very well. It was kind of troubling at the time because it had been one of the longest waits for a NIN album and it felt like he was abandoning glitchy synths and going all-in on arena rock. I still think he should've changed up the style on a few songs to maybe give it some more variety, but overall it's a great listen. I'll quote myself from the album's 16th birthday 3 years ago: Sir Lemming posted:This discussion made me want to listen through the album track by track again, so here goes. Yeah With Teeth is one of my favs, I’m a big fan of NIN disco tunes and “Only” is one of the best, up there with “Discipline”. Also as I get older and in a rut “Every day is exactly the same” resonates with me more than ever.
