Ive read rumblings that the Pats and Giants are the ones in on Aiyuk in a trade down scenario.

The Pats have the cap space, but I question the wisdom of trading a premier pick for a WR who is due a pay day. Also the Patriots aren't in any danger of competing next year. They are going to be bad for a couple of years before they get better.

Last second rumors from Albert Breer sumarized:

  • Rams, Jaguars, Colts, Chiefs Eagles, and Saints are attempting to move up.
  • The 49ers would like to move up by trading either Aiyuk or Deebo but because Sun God got paid, it's harder now
  • Chiefs want a tackle and will have to move up for one
  • Graham Barton is the safest pick in this first round. Pro-Bowl Center floor.
  • Giants like Joe Alt a lot. They will attempt to trade up for a QB however.
  • Patriots are open to business until the final second of their selection.

Well, in Whoville they say - that his tiny hands grew three sizes that day.

I won't believe the 49ers are trading Aiyuk until he's actually wearing a different jersey. And they've already told Deebo they're not trading him unless they get some super wild offer.

there's a rumor out there that higgins and sutton could very well be on the move tonight. makes a lot of sense to me. avoids the what-seems inevitable mess that will be higgins vs the bengals, and helps explain how payton satisfies his need to move up.
