NO MERCY, ONLY PAIN :black101:
It's been a hot minute since i was last in Japan but at the time the cool trendy off-the-tourist track neighbourhood in Tokyo was Shimotikazawa which isn't very far from Shibuya/Yoyogi Park but this info may be several years out of date

Also got absolutely no interest in Kyoto. Not that into Japanese history and the whole geisha stuff or whatever. I just wanna go look at big bright lights in Tokyo and Osaka (also e as t lots of takoyaki in Osaka) and then check out small off the beaten tracks areas. I'm more into just vibing with locals and eating good food and drinking a terrifying amount of sake. Heck yeahhhhh

Most locals hate hanging out with tourists fyi which is why foreigners are refused entry to most of the places in golden gai etc.

We get Jane Austen weebs here in Bath. I’ve never seen one of them with visible tattoos either now that I think about it.

There's literally a bar I'm planning to go to in Golden Gai that I've messaged on Facebook loads asking them about this and they said they're cool and stoked to have foreigners come drink and hang out

Like I'm spergy as gently caress but also super self conscious so I'm hardly gonna rock up anywhere I'm not welcome. I'll continue to research as much as I can to see where I am welcome as a foreigner and make sure to get in touch with folk who will want to hang and help as a guide etc for more smaller areas.

Oh god

Literally the only thing I hated about living in Bath was the sheer amount of tourists and especially the Jane Austen ones. Like people would be just wandering about town all dressed up and I'm trying to work and WHY DON'T THEY KNOW HOW TO WALK PROPERLY OR MOVE OUT OF THE WAY FUCKS SAKE

Actually they love Americans in Japan cuz we were the ones who saved them from themselves, it's the Brits they hate. Tho there is a really good football pub down in Ebisu called Footnik run by a British guy where I watched most of euro 2012 but all the Japanese footy fans were wearing Italy shirts. Not a single lion in sight let alone three

I always liked hanging out with tourists in nyc, they’re so enthusiastic.

Ah wait I see which thread I’m in. A couple decades back I was visiting London with a friend and had a terrible time trying to chitchat with people in bars. In NYC it was easy but there people almost seemed affronted that we tried to start conversation. Then we spotted them: a group of Londoners that dressed like classic dirty American skaters. They were completely ready for our goofball chattiness and we ended up having a long night getting trashed then dancing like maniacs at a club.

Thank you, random friendly people, that was one of the highlights of our short stay

If they didn't scowl at anyone trying to talk to them they could end up in conversation with some real cunty locals.
