That the tryout Harley Quinn page went out without an overall description of tone and dialogue is all my fault. I should have put it clearly in the description that it was supposed to be a dream sequence with me talking to Harley and giving her a hard time. I should have also mentioned we were thinking a Mad magazine /Looney Tunes approach was what we were looking for.

GBS is basically reddit so they're kind of stupid and fully fall for all that stupid poo poo. It's why you occasionally get anyone else to look at the forum and get situations like "Hey whats with all these posters openly lusting over killing dogs?" and "Why is there a series of threads where a freak draws and writes incredibly lovely pornography 'adventures' about trans women?" and of course "Why is this news thread mad they can't post videos of people dying any more?" A lot of people seem to only understand plagiarism as a loss of monetary value (or the monetary value that comes from exposure) when that's really not true. Even without Capitalists, people would still look down on plagiarism. You can see this with stuff like fanfic plagiarism even though money was never exchanged. Or to put it this way, if there was an author who was otherwise mediocre but sometimes had moments of brilliance and then it turned out all the good parts were someone else, people are going to view the first author differently. Nobody would give a gently caress about "the experience is still the same".

If you’ve never seen how well that can work then go find a copy of The Photographer: Into War-torn Afghanistan with Doctors Without Borders. It’s a graphic novel/photo collage travel log hybrid thing that is a fantastic presentation of how images in sequence, and even photographs tell a personal story. And in that by the photographer’s own admission some of his best images were “impulse snapshots”. The LLM programs are bit complicated algorithms trying to best guess what is pleasing based on what they were fed as “good art” and that still fails all the time because the stolen art it grabbed from is still a terribly limited range of aesthetic choices. Like I made the mistake of committing to running a ttrpg online for friends and I need a lot of art for NPC tokens to fire off fast because I like visual aids. So sure, I’ll search up some art and yeah everything is inundated with AI crap. Like even when it’s not giving me results where someone’s forehead morphs into a second torso or Emma Watson with a Freddy Krueger worm neck, it’s just loving generic. Almost every guy has the same gigachad facial structure. Almost every woman has generic supermodel proportions. They’ve always got the same dull bloomy lighting like they’re Oblivion NPCs. And they all have that blank boomer-lead stare expressionless face. Also mostly white unless I add to the search (and then “ethnic identifiers” start sliding in too woo.) It’s a loving miserable slog because everything looks the loving same and there’s no personality coming though in any of the figures depicted. I don’t know what kind of AI art was coming up in place of actual IRL photography, but I can totally see how it would loving suck to stop getting personal pictures from a friend and start being served “I told an algorithm to make me an ideal studio ghibli countryside and here’s what auto completed for me” instead.
