It's definitely intended that the player should make flying machines. There are plenty of pre-built ones on the sky islands as examples. What I think was unintended was just slapping some fans and a control stick together to make something cheap and effective and which can be used both to gain height and go long distances.

Why didn't she just have Rauru murder Ganondorf before he stole a Sage's stone and became unbeatable? There's really no excuse. Era after era of suffering because she was like "Huh, this Ganondorf guy seems suspicious." "Yes, Princess, I sense treachery as well. But, I'm not going to do anything about it for a while."

To be fair, Zelda and Rauru have no idea how the imprisoned Ganondorf winds up with a Sage's stone, before it happens.

It could have turned out that, thirty years after the battle, Sonia winds up divorcing Rauru, takes her Sage's Stone with her, and willed it to Gannondorf after she dies from a severe allergy to the gift basket Mineru sent them.

Also, I think Zelda just straight up doesn't recognize Ganondorf as the corpse she just saw, for whatever reason. And as for why she didn't latch onto the Ganon -> Ganondorf connection, to her, Calamity Ganon is probably like Hurricane Dennis, just the name they gave to a natural disaster. It's not like they didn't plan to do anything about him anyway. They just failed to realize he'd be so bold as to show up himself.

The star-shaped island, right? You’re not really expected to go up there, there’s nothing actually on it. It’s there to show where the tablet in Lookout Landing fell down from.

I don't think it was advisable to hang out to do research while demon hitler his destroying civilization and he's specifically looking for her.

Yep, that one. Honestly it's the best vantage point to see almost all of Hyrule, so I guess it could be meant as a tourist destination.

Yeah I like my U-Block 3 fan vehicle better than the 2-fan hoverbike as it's faster and more stable for me. Eats battery faster though.

edit: This was almost the final one I built- I rearranged the fans slightly and it's far more stable and flies flat.

IIRC that part is from one of the sections of the Construct Factory, where you have to attach fans to it to send it up the rail to the next room and retrieve the limb.

It's the depot northeast of the factory. I want to say right leg. Just did it for my 100% run and I'd rant more about my TotK opinions but they boil down to "Despite everything, BotW was way better", only spread out over 100,000 words, so I'll spare y'all.

I think I'm ToTKed out. Completed all the shrines. Lit up the Depths. I have five Sage's Wills left - I've fought all the King Gleeok's and Constructs and been to almost all the islands, so I assume I missed some or they're sitting on tiny islands I thought were empty. I also have a bunch of side quests left to do and of course there are endless Korok seeds to collect, but my heart isn't in it anymore.

I started rebuilding Lurelin Village yesterday and thought, "What is the point? This type of thing can go on forever." I could keep playing for months and find things little things to do to check off completion boxes, but I think I've reached the saturation point.

I think I'll just let Ganon destroy Hyrule.

Lurelin’s one of the very best side quests imo. Everyone is so drat happy with you when you finish :3:

But I feel you. Despite an insane amount of time in this game I still have dozens of quests that are never getting finished. And probably dozens more I never even found.

I could also go for a new Hyrule Warriors centered around the Imprisoning War and events leading to it, Age of Calamity was fuckin’ fantastic - although I’m not sure how they would pull it off with no Link, lol

Oh yeah. The Zelda music is actually pretty hard to track down legally physically. It’s why I’m buying both these sets (BoTW this week, tears in July) because they don’t get physical releases the way they should.

Yeah iirc it's the right leg part of the factory. Just glue an apple or something to the U Block and you can have it in your history inventory for instant construction. Just remember not to remove the apple from the summoned piece until you build the rest of the vehicle or the U block will disappear

Dang, I don't think I've seen a soundtrack collection that big before. That'd look cool on display, even if I don't really have a way to play it nowadays.

Meanwhile in my TotK run, I've beaten the Fire Temple three times now, and I still find it confusing. I still just can't find much flow to it, after the first couple seals it just feels like I'm randomly looking around for the next place to get to off in the distance. I thought maybe after a few tries, I'd stumble onto a more generally intended path, but it hasn't happened. I don't know if I've just always managed to get myself off track early, or if it really is meant to be more of an open ended experience.

None of that's really a complaint, I've had fun every time. It just feels so different from the other temples, which feel more contained even if you can still use your powers to skip around in them.

GATOS Y VATOS
Aug 22, 2002

I kind of felt that way about the fire temple as well, but I still enjoyed it. In fact the only temple I personally didn't really care for was the water temple. The air temple was the first one I tackled and honestly the whole thing of 'climbing' upwards until you got to the eye of the storm was really great in my opinion. It felt really different and just was spectacular visually. The Gerudo temple felt the most like an old school Zelda dungeon to me, with the fire temple also kind of did.

also lmao that we almost got a Zelda that DEFINITELY wanted to talk to your manager.
