lol i wonder what TX unemployment benefits are like.

If the company lays you off, you can apply for unemployment, and if you get it, the company is on the hook for six months of it, but unemployment is like, 30% of your paycheck or some poo poo, it's hilariously low.

Oh, also, you have to show your efforts to land a new job or they get to claw back your unemployment(it's like, 3 applications a week or something).

And  benefits, get rekt, pleb, go find a free clinic :elon:

Asimov's reasoning for human shaped robots is that the world is already built with humans in mind. Rather than building specializes tools that can only do one thing, it would be more efficient to build one thing that can slot in anywhere a human being could. It's an artesian view of production that explicitly rejects the assembly line and other modern forms of production at scale. This illustrates a sort of half-modernization of Elon's mind which, per Sonderwegtheorie explains the genesis of his fascism.

Form follows function.

There's something to that as a lot of human created spaces are very much made with able body people in mind, with stars, door handles, buttons etc. Just ask someone with a physical disability. Although a lot of newer buildings are getting better with that sort of stuff.

It still brings up, what are the robots meant to be doing? As tasks specific robots are just infinitely better at doing whatever there designed to do. Is the idea just to have robot servants or something? It's going to be a long, long time until anything like a robot servant is going to be a financial sensible thing to exist.

Let's be generous, round up, and say that 5,000 Cybertrucks have been delivered

I've personally seen well over 100 reports of major-ish problems with them pop up in here and elsewhere online. I don't think it's unreasonable to say that 50% of major "I gotta take this to the shop" problems have not been posted in this thread, so double it to, minimum, 200 Cybertrucks that have just broken themselves in a significant way within the first three months of ownership. That's like, a 5% failure rate. That's so loving bad, lmao, lol, lmao.

The existence of the cybertruck Reddit is so funny

I remember going to a Reddit Meetup in my late teens , early twenties , and the bar staff made a themed cocktail that was basically a bloody Mary with a carrot slice instead of celery and bacon bits on top. It sounds terrible because it was

Point being is , all us rubes sat around in a circle slowly sipping on our terrible.drinks we paid 20 Bux for all silently understanding we had been taken advantage of because we were reddit brained idiots

This was a valuable lesson, and a fine event for me to reflect upon later in life

There is just some odd similarity between this little moment and muskrats and their cyber trucks. Cant put my finger on it exactly

my cyβ∑ΓtℝVcK had a minor mis-hap this morning wherein the gas pedal got stuck on full-pipe just when the overhead gear select touch panel disengaged from its 2.0 OTA-upgraded adhesive mount. Needless to say, i was dismayed by the notable whirring sound coming from the driver left motor as the vehicle chewed through my wife's children, their pets, and my newly renovated mancave.

Long story short, I'm looking for a machine learning solution to the problem of chopping my family into small pieces for easier dissolution and it seems like tesla charges an additional 20k for the option. is it weorth it, my fellow redditors? *tip[s fedora*

Lemon laws are for when you get a vehicle that's defective in a way that it doesn't meet quality standards in comparison to equivalent vehicles.

Cyberturcks are all piles of garbage, so none of them are defective in a way that's atypical of other Cerburturkcs.

Also deep down, people buying them know they're buying piles of crap and don't want to admit it.

Still love the car tho.

You're being generous about the regulatory approval to sell a new car

quote:

The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (Vehicle Safety Act), NHTSA’s organic statute, creates a self-certification system of compliance, in which vehicle and equipment manufacturers certify that their products meet applicable standards. NHTSA chooses vehicles and equipment from the fleet to test for compliance, and pursues enforcement actions when the Agency finds either a non-compliance or a defect posing an unreasonable risk to safety.

NHTSA does not pre-approve new motor vehicles or new motor vehicle technologies. NHTSA will continue to exercise its available regulatory authority over Automated Driving Systems (or ADS) using its existing regulatory tools.

It is important to note that NHTSA does not prohibit the introduction of new motor vehicles or motor vehicle technologies into the vehicle fleet, provided those vehicles and technologies meet existing FMVSS. A vehicle or equipment manufacturer need ask NHTSA about a new technology or vehicle design only when it will not comply with applicable standards, or when there might be a question as to compliance. If a manufacturer anticipates having such a question, then requests for interpretations, exemptions, and rulemakings are the methods that a manufacturer can use to pursue answers from the Agency.

Other than this after-the fact safety oversight, the big regulation around making/selling cars is emissions which doesn't apply to electric cars for the most part.

IIRC Illinois allows you to return the car for a full refund within 30 days if there are serious defects that make the car unusable. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why the repair tint is quoted as 4+ weeks, so that you can't get your money back if you're still unhappy after it comes back from the shop.
