Big vote for a FiST, especially the last few years where you got backup cam and Sync3.
Worth noting of course that it's relatively easy to add both of these to older models. Running the wire for a backup cam from the hatch in to the roof is a pain in the rear end but beyond that both operations are more or less plug and play plus a bit of AsBuilt twiddling with ForScan.

Not a fair comparison, what kind of a masochistic pervert gets their jollies from a CVT?

For all that nonsense about the FiST not having enough cargo space I say: move the cargo tray down a level. Bam! 5 sq ft more space. Doesn’t solve the seats not folding flat, but that’s due to the ST seats having more bolstering.

Don’t know if this has been mentioned or not and it’s not a solution if you need to use the rear seats for passengers, but in the Euro version at least, if you remove the rear seat base the seat backs fold flat AFAIK

The rear seat bottom on the Focus folds forward, you'd think the Fiesta would have the same provision.

It doesn’t. Other fiesta trims do. It’s stupid.

ACCIDENTAL SHIT POSTER

Since my GTI basically killed itself, I've spent a lot of time and money getting the old mini back to road ready. Was going to sell it back in the day, but I'm blessing my laziness now. New battery, full fluid flush and oil change, tire rotation, and some more poo poo they discovered while doing the maintenance. Out about a g, but the 08 with 87k miles is back in action! Better than the 7k is going to take to get the VW back up and running. With the price of used vehicles these days I'll fix it. Eventually.

Edit: poor mini sat outside for something like two years. Got it washed, but she needs a legit detail at this point.

Cool cool, just got rear-ended pulling into a restaurant parking lot

Got an 8:30 inspection appointment at the same shop that fixed it when my sister backed into my wheel arch and I have every confidence that they'll take care of everything and do a bangup job, but it still sucks poo poo :smith:

Oh no! You’re a fellow FiSTer too right? That’s a drat shame

The good news is that the skeleton is made out of poo poo heap, so it oughta be cheap(ish) to get a new bumper and clips.

Bumper covers and stuff like that are usually where fancy editions do differ from base but it looks like the bumper cover itself is the same, just the rear valence is different

I’ve noticed some excess lateral rocking over crummy nyc roads in my tsx. What suspension components should i look at to make sure they’re working alright?

How old are the shocks and struts? That would probably be my first check.

I put a new set of Tein coilovers on last year. Over smooth roads, they ride great, but going over rutted city roads at low speed is when I notice lateral rocking. The tire diameter is also slightly smaller than oem equivalent, so that may be a contributing factor?

Needs a good detailing, but for a 2009 car it's in awesome shape. Drove great all the way home.

How much did you snag this for? This is pretty much the only circumstance I'd buy one since you can't trust these cars with dumb PO's

It was 10k, which I was a bit conflicted about. On one hand, it's a 15 year old turbo. On the other hand, it's a bit of a unicorn because it was owned by an older guy who took incredible care of it.

I found two others near me over the course of a month when I was looking. One had 115k miles, was from the north, wasn't in as good of shape and was listed for 11.5k. The other had 70k miles and was in really rough cosmetic shape and was listed for 12k. And then KBB had this one valued at 10k, for whatever that's worth.

I'm really glad I ended up getting it because it makes me happy every time I drive it and it's so pretty to look at :3:

edit: I named it Gandalf because it's old and white

I think this counts as a hot hatch, as vintage and rare as these are. An 80s Chevrolet Sprint Turbo. Someone I know just checked and there are only 223 known to still exist. I spotted this one while on a walk around my neighborhood, a few days ago.
