The National Tertiary Education Union won WFH clauses for professional staff at the uni I work at and I had comrades who work in the CPSU sniffing wanting to get in on it for the public service. Basically, management needs to provide a good reason why you can't WFH, and there is a formal process for requesting and refusing requests to WFH. Yet to see how enforcement plays out

If I didn't like to have lunch on Fridays with a mate who I work with, it would probably be full time.

QBE customer service are a pack of dicks, pass it on. They gave me completely inaccurate information in email format regarding my claims history that would have absolutely horsefucked me when I applied to another insurance provider and if I then subsequently had to claim. Some Senior complaints officer contacted me and at the end of his spiel asked my preferred contact method. My response was "My preferred method of contact is email as frankly if I am to be lied to I'd prefer it to be in writing."

I tried to cancel my Youi contents insurance last week because they increased my premium by over 10% while only increasing my coverage by a couple of thousand dollars. It took less than 10 minutes for them to ring me and apply a "discretionary" discount.

Then when I asked them for a claims history they sent an email stating that I had no claims in the last 3 years. Then when I called them because I very definitely had a claim within that time period (needed exact dates to sign up elsewhere) after 3* transfers I was able to get someone who could tell me over the phone the dates and circumstances of my previous claims. Then they sent me another email with 'no claims in the last 3 years'. And then later out of nowhere they sent me a letter advising that I'd previously been overcharged by $420 and that they would be issuing a refund check. No idea where this came from as it didn't pertain to anything I've discussed with them. But given how they look, they've probably been horsefucking me for years. PS look at the page you get sent to when you click the "Update my policy" tile on their customer hub. Seriously,  DON'T SLEEP ON THIS, IT'S AMAZING.They don't even have online accounts that you can log in to to check your policy details.

He constantly dealt with people that complained about price increases on plans and that their complaints nearly always resulted in some kind of discount once they threatened to go with another provider! Youi fucken sucks. They've gotta be the worst to deal with. I've just been bouncing between Aami and Suncorp since we bought the house. They try and jack up the premium by 30% each year but if you swap to the other one it will be roughly the same as you paid the previous year. I just tried a quote with QBE for shits and giggles and the premium is 2.5x the aami premium for a sum insured $100k less than with aami.
