I suspect this is the best the defense can do with the strategy they selected. Unlike Trump, Daniels absolutely can invoke a "my lawyer said to do this" because she's not on trial and with the line of questioning Necheles went with.

So the lawyer is proving that... Stormy Daniels signed an NDA and didn't disclose what happened after agreeing to it?

What is the point of fixating on whether Daniels did or didn't want money? This trial is about trump covering up the payment. I'm poo poo at laywer stuff.

They're trying to say that Daniels was out for the money, which would make it more of an extortion scheme and throwing up a ton of smoke with respect to the basic fact that it was still money paid to benefit a federal election campaign. If you buy the underlying logic of the prosecution's theory of the case, it's pretty simple really. If you're skeptical, then it can veer into the weeds and then the jury will lose the thread which results (possibly!) in an acquittal. It's (IMO) not a bad tack but Daniels is not cooperating with the defense's plan here.

I think they're trying for a "you signed a contract and then broke it" thing to turn the jury against her testimony, except it's not relevant to this case. It's trying to be a gotcha, but we've been through this years ago when the Stormy Daniels saga began and when the prosecution gets up they're just going to deflate this.

I'm wondering if this crew is joining him in court today solely because they're not bound by any kind of gag order. If Trump can't attack certain people himself, maybe get other assholes to do it for him?

I think the closing arguments and jury instructions would prevent that from being a successful tactic. They're going to lay out the elements of the crime and then go, "Do you agree that these things happened?" I agree that they're trying to make Daniels look bad without opening the door the worse testimony against Trump, it's just that I think it's not a very good plan.

More than likely, and Fox needs its red meat to throw at the feral hogs. Special Boy’s handlers probably invited his friends over for a play date at the court to cheer him up, too because mean ‘ol Stormy Daniels was going to be mean to him.

"all she wants is money" is the defense? from motherfucking trump??? yeah, people who exist only to gather money sure are terrible people. isn't that right guy who is desperate for his name to mean "rich"? twitter is going to be crack for white people: the younger ones will see what it does to the previous generation and flee as far from it as possible.
