I've seen the Rip and tear! panel many, many times, but never knew it was from an entire comic. I though it was just a panel from something like a 4 panel fan comic. That was the dumbest thing I've read in awhile, but in a good way.

I was going to say that refractometers suck and that hydrometers are always better but then I realized that might be a medical refractometer and that a hydrometer measurement of blood density would be problematic.Tarkus posted:1 Brix = 1 g of sucrose to 100ml of water or in this case probably 0-85% of 1 brix It’s all dissolved solids not just sucrose because what one is actually measuring specific gravity of water. In beer making one is looking for sugar content. One could be looking for protean content in blood or another liquid. In other applications like draft surveys one is looking for specific gravity changes mostly resulting from water salt content. They also use them in the dairy industry. That might be one of those and not medical. Looking at the Google images that’s one might be one targeted at dairy people.

The JDatE movie is real interesting because the first like 15 minutes feels like a great Don Coscarelli movie along the lines of Bubba Ho Tep and then they start rapidly running out of money and the movie keeps getting worse and cheaper every moment. Eventually it's a Nick Arcade level green screen shot.
