so the phone draws the screen at 2208x1242 then it goes "let's get this down to 1920x1080" the way the scaling works then means that lines tend to blur a bit more, slightly less sharp obvs with the ppi bump it still does look better but it could look loving incredible if apple paid up for the larger res panel

probably cause that'd make the actual usable space cramped. look at how much space they give the icons to the sides of the home screen. with a smaller 'area' to work with (360x640 compared to the 414x736) you can't have stuff like that cause apps and ui elements would have to be closer together essentially
