I like to listen to music and sometimes things like game grumps. What do you put on when the games music gets stale?

I don't really listen to game soundtracks while playing them, and many of the games I play I don't want to be listening to other things either.

Nothing. I'm listening for enemies. In many of the games I play you have to watch out for enemies.

Nothing, maybe until steam music player gets better, like being able to see folders or having another slider for the game's volume.

The soundtrack! Nowadays if I'm playing something that doesn't require my full attention like Battle Maison in Pokemon or a minor dungeon in Etrian Odyssey, I'll mute my 3DS and watch a TV show in the background. But that's about it. woofbro fucked around with this message at 11:10 on Nov 17, 2014 |

I'm a music nerd so I listen to all kinds of poo poo. I spent all 128m of my last Risk Of Rain multiplayer run listening to the Revengeance soundtrack though, and the runs before that were to the sound of various Sonic OSTs. Usually it's not game soundtracks though. Doom metal like Swallow The Sun or Yob is good to space out to for grinding, something shoegazey like Faunts or later Earth albums for exploring, or just saying gently caress it and putting it on shuffle to let the rock, country, dance, pop, metal, classical, etc just flow

The actual soundtrack if it's good, podcasts, sometimes audiobooks, sometimes music if it's appropriate with the game.

Just remembered that listening to an Aquabats album while I was making Sims is how I got into their music and to a lesser extent, ska.
