Pixel Tactics is a card game based around squad tactics, energy management, and positioning. The rules are not entirely simple, but for the most part straightforward.

:frogsiren: I'm lazy and don't want to type them out, so here's a link. :frogsiren:

---

Round Directory

Round 1
Round 2
Round 3
Round 4 Vanguard Flank Rear

---

Our first commanders are Spincut and Heatwizard! Both are new to the rules, so let's see how fast they catch on.

The field of battle lies empty! Choose your Leaders!

Questions, comments, concerns?

Spectator heckling welcome.

Question: Are you using Pixel Tactics 1 and 2, or just 1? (Or just 2, I guess.)

Here are some rule points for you guys to remember which may trip you up.
  • No matter whether you win or lose the match, you won't have your Leader in your deck for the rest of the game, so choose carefully!
  • There are 3 Waves to a Round: Van, Flank, and Rear. At the end of the Rear Round, the first player switches. (So if Spincut starts the Waves in Round 1, then Heatwizard will start the Waves in Round 2.)
  • There's a Round 1 Ceasefire, so attacks (melee, ranged, or Attack Powers) and Orders can't be used yet.
  • Melee attacks melee (the frontmost character in that column), ranged attacks anywhere, Intercept characters, well, intercept ranged attacks in that column. (So at the start of the game, your Leader is in melee.)
  • Also, your guys don't die until end of wave, so you can last-ditch heal them a la Earthbound.
  • Lastly, you have to sweep corpses when your characters die! (Though you may not want to do that, depending on your Leader; e.g. Hepzibah or Voco.)
  • Oh, wait, one last thing. If it says "any hero," that literally means "any hero," yours or the opponent's. But if it says "any hero in this unit," then it's just for you. Just like in BattleCON, if you activate an effect and there is a legal target, you must use it, even if it helps your opponent or hurts you.

That... wasn't supposed to be nearly as many points as it turned out to be. Hope that helps! Oh, and have a master list of all the characters! :)

Right, which is really annoying, hence why I made the Excel sheet. :v: However, I did shorten the text a bit (though it should still convey the same idea), so if my shortened text is confusing, you should check the original on Tollymain's link.

You use all of your actions for your wave before / after your opponent, yes.

You can have more than 2 actions per wave with certain abilities :getin:

Fake edit: Luc Van Gott is broken as gently caress as a leader and the only reason you shouldn't take him is because he's broken as gently caress as a hero too

Real edit: if you want to draw a card and use it in the same wave, you'll have to wait for me to pm you what it is. this shouldn't be too big of a problem except for when i'm sleeping which i'm about to be so :v:

This is the genius method of balance this game has. If a card is better or worse than another one, all well and good, but it can be used 5 different ways, so you have to decide how to use it most effectively. You can't win with just one character, either; you need an army. (The other reason why it's balanced is because both players have the same broken characters.)

heatwizard, you have two actions. at the moment you can't attack or play orders yet because round 1 has a ceasefire and you can't clear corpses or restructure because there's nothing there to do it to.

you can spend an action to draw a card or recruit a hero from your hand into the vanguard wave (red spaces). what do ya do?
