Story behind the Song: If you've ever watched a TV talent show like America's Got Talent or American Idol, then you may have noticed something interesting. They tend to milk the sob-stories of the contestants for all they're worth. It almost seems like some people get voted through with less talent just because they have a more tear-jerking story. When I looked at my own industry - the rap industry - I noticed the same thing. It seems like almost every mainstream rapper today fits the same type of mold - they had a terrible childhood, came from poverty, and then suddenly got pulled straight to the upper class from poverty, without ever touching the middle class. (In science, I believe they call that sublimation...anyway) Well what does that mean for a rapper like me who doesn't have a sob-story, went to college and has a supportive family?
