Guys I just made canned chili for lunch. I got a can of NO BEAN Wolf chili. I got an onion, and a jalapeno. I got some sazon, sriracha, franks red hot, ancho chili pepper. I got some Bob Evans breakfast sausage and browned it up. Then I put that bitch in the microwave and I'm eating the gently caress out of it right now. This took 9 hours less time than how I normally cook (no bean) chili. This is very efficient and superior. I realize that if I do ever want to actually eat beans, I should heat up a can of it in the microwave and chop up some hotdogs to throw in the bowl... but what other fantasies lie within this realm?

I make my husband push the vegetables into the pot with a knife because he is allergic to touching all vegetables (for real).

How much was the Wolf brand chili? I remember when I lived in Iowa it was always the cheapass chili, $1 a can. But here in Denver it seems to be more expensive than Hormel, usually $3+. Also, I don't think I have ever eaten it, which price is more fair?? tia

I cook tenderbird chicken breasts in the microwave for 10 minutes and chop them up in squares and mix them with one budget gourmet dinner. That is my lunch along with a can of green beans or corn in an extra tupperware container. I also cover all my lunch with garlic powder, black pepper, and some greek seasoning garbage. It's still low in fat, salt, and other garbage. There you go.

Adding stuff to stuff that comes out of a can or jar is not cooking. Cooking is really easy. I'd suggest learning to make some simple Italian pasta sauces to start, like all'Amatriciana and Carbona. You will notice that they start off the same way, as so many other dishes do, with onion and some form of pork. The goons with spoons wiki has a lot of good recipes: http://goonswithspoons.com/Welcome_to_Goons_With_Spoons Also, if you don't really want to learn to cook, but you want to make great food anyway, take the advice of the people in this thread recommending a slow cooker.

Almost everything that is good starts with pork or can be made better with pork. Buy bacon, stack it up in stacks of 4 or 5 pieces, wrap it in aluminum foil, and freeze it. Now you will always have the most important ingredient to almost everything handy and it's really easy to slice off super thin slivers that practically melt in hot oil (but not too hot).

A really easy and lazy one I like is buy a chuck roast and a jar pepperoncinis, put the chuck roast in the crock pot, pour the whole pepper jar in the pot. Set it on low for 8 hours, shred it and make sandwiches or serve it on rice.

Moridin920 posted:people who insist on putting bacon on everything are gross and probably hambeasts That's not what I am talking about. You are right, bacon people are gross. But pork is the flavor and American bacon is an easy source if you live in the US. Like technically, for the pasta sauces I mentioned earlier, you should use panchetta or guanciale, but US bacon works. I'm not talking about putting bacon on anything, I am talking about using as a base.
