It's highly illegal, but some teachers could turn the blind eye on that, obviously. Back at Uni, we used to drink lovely fizzy cocktails during boring lectures, because they looked like regular fizzy. At least five students were expelled for drinking vodka, though.

contrary to popular opinion, plenty of ex-ussr has stricter drinking laws than major western countries (looking at you, germany). their effectiveness is another thing though yeah (basically depends who caught you)

same in latvia, and it is strictly enforced even in small cities. public alcohol consumption may happen only during sanctioned events, on their territory, or in outside areas of alcohol-serving establishments.
