![]() https://duckduckgo.com/ for the uninitiated, its a search engine that prioritizes privacy and stuff since every big company collects data now. I've been trying it for a few weeks, but I cant help but go back to google when I need to search something specific or time sensitive. For everything else it seems okay? Biggest pet peeve is that search results aren't dated; its a chore randomly clicking results and hoping its recent stuff. is it worth it? I know the intellectual masterminds of gbs can offer their in depth analyses on search engines. ![]()

I have also been using duckduck for the same reason, and what I've found is that I've taken for granted Google's ability to pull up local business number and addresses with little search effort.

Yeah I've been using DDG as my main search engine for years. It's good.

Results aren't always great, but I like DuckDuckGo well enough. I also use it as my default now.

I switched to DDG recently as well. It's alright. My only gripes are the same ones already posted: no dates on articles and isn't as good at immediately pulling up business addresses and such.

I've been using DDG for almost a year and most of the time the results are better than Google. There are a few cases for really specific stuff I'll need to go back to Google or Bing, but generally, DDG does a much better job.

DuckDuckGo is good, but if you're gonna use it you might as well go the full mile and use stuff like NoScript, Tor, a Linux distro, etc. I'm lazy and I'm sure my data has already been collected for years, and I don't use Facebook, so at this point I don't even bother.

The chrome on my gfs computer defaults to Yahoo and it's sad how bad it sucks. My biggest complaint with duckduckgo is the name. I don't want animals in my urls, or monkey children repeated words

Can't use it as a verb ? Probably can't use it as a search engine. I'll Google your dad, ok I'll bing your mom, maybe I won't yahoo anything though

Doesnt ddg have a thing to give you the google results just anonymized or something
|

You can use "bangs" to search other engines somewhat anonymously with DuckDuckGo. https://duckduckgo.com/bang?q= If you add !g to your terms it will redirect your search to google. !yt will search youtube. !b will search bing. There are thousands of bangs. There are bangs for a lot of video game wikis, for example. If you're logged into the search engine you bang it won't be anonymous or unfiltered I've used DDG exclusively for a few years because of that feature, even though most of my searches start with !g euler fucked around with this message at 01:07 on Feb 11, 2018 |
