Everybody loves LEGO. If you do not love LEGO, you are not real. This is a thread dedicated to all LEGO games, from LEGO Island to the new LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga. Buy LEGO.

With that out of the way, I'm really enjoying LEGO Star Wars. I've also got LEGO Lord of the Rings installed, so I'll get back to that at some point. I love these modern collectathons.

I haven't played a LEGO game since the first LEGO Batman. I probably should install one of the other ones.

This game taught me patience, my computer could not run it, and most of the videos would cause crashes, or play so slow and laggy. And I would sit and wait patiently waiting for it to finish so I could finish the game.

I got more degrees than a thermometer!

The new LEGO Star Wars game is fun. I've only seen 4-5-6 and 1, so I'm a bit lost with some of the early and late series references, but it's cute and has a surprising amount of content is in it. So much well rendered plastic.

LEGO Island is a mess, nostalgia cannot save it

Skywalker Saga owns bones. I’ve done 4,5,6 and currently on 1. I occasionally get distracted finding glowing blocks, doing side quests, or solving puzzles but I can’t wait to finish the store and come back to 100% each area.

E: the third patch is out, 1.0.3. If anyone finds patch notes please post them.

I'm indifferent on Star Wars and like the couple Lego games i played. The new mechanics and yet maintained openness of Skywalker Saga is enticing me. How well does the Switch play? More important are the load times forgivable?

They’re a little long and it gets a bit blurry in large areas but I’m having fun with it. It’s a great pick up and play Switch sort of game

LEGO Skywalker Saga

Here is my progress so far. I’m going in movie release order and I just wrapped up Ep III and onto Force Awakens. I have no idea how much time I’ve played but I feel like it has to be at least 10 hours so far.

Focusing on story first with the occasional exploration to grab a kyber brick or something but looking forward to coming back to free play mode to 100%.

For a long time my only expose to the Harry Potter IP was the LEGO games. It was a shock when the characters started wasting time talking in the movies.

Skywalker Saga has no business being this good. The text crawls about Obi Wan in “ A New Hope” are great

I'm really loving Skywalker Saga. This is the first Lego game I've played and it's so charming, and surprisingly gorgeous. I'd kind of thought the "Lego" brand would allow for like low effort adaptation stuff but the environments are so high fidelity, and the Lego pieces are incredibly detailed with little seams, blemishes, etc. It might actually be one of the best looking games I've ever played.

It runs well on PC. My midrange rig (1660 super) can do 4k that pretty steadily hangs around 40 fps. I can hit a constant 80-90 if I go to 1440p.

I will say the actual "follow the plot of the movie" stuff is hit and miss, they gloss over a lot, and many of the cutscenes are shorter and more truncated than I'd like. The main draw seems to be a kind of Mario Odyssey-esque adventure through dozens of huge open worlds, packed with Easter eggs and references as you solve little puzzles or obstacle courses. And it excels at that.

does skywalker saga use audio from the movies or do they do the vastly superior thing where they pantomime and grunt the whole time?

The lines are recorded by voice actors (including when they've lifted dialogue from the movies), and you can switch to "mumble mode" for the grunted non voiced style.

The VA cast is GREAT, playing through the prequels they have most of the cast from Clone Wars, including Anakin, Obi wan, and Maul, who were all phenomenal and it's nice to hear them again. Sassy Clone Wars Obi Wan is my canon version of the character at this point.

I played the original Lego Star Wars and a couple other Lego games, but nothing recently, and I had been wondering whether the franchise was stagnating or if some games developed better ideas that later games abandoned or whatever. I'm sure somebody out there has opinions on all the Lego games. But clearly Skywalker Saga blows all the other lego games out of the water. It looks amazing, although I haven't played it.

Anyway, this is my favorite lego game I've ever played.

Don't have Star Wars yet, I want to play and finish The Hobbit Lego which I only recently started.
Never played a Lego game before, its strange how you can just swap between all the Hobbits, thought it was just the two (or whoever is there on screen) max.
Liking it so far.

I want to make a joke about how they should have lopped off a third of Skywalker Saga instead.

Which third is up to the reader.
