In case you weren't aware, the US goonfund has officially launched and been incorporated! We have been incorporated with the state of Washington for almost a month now and officially ended our interim on March 17th. However, going from the interim to full fledged standing on our own two feet has been... difficult to say the least. While we feel quite confident we've gotten the word out for people in need of help (having already given $3500 since March 17th!!) we have not been as good at advertising that we need money!!! So to that end - comes this fundraising contest for the Goonfund! So what are we doing? We want to raise money for the goonfund, but we want to have a bit of fun and have it be in a way that fosters a bit of community while still letting goons do what they do best - own their posting enemies. There has been a lot of discussion lately in CSPAM (and the forums at large for that matter) about megathreads and goon's insistence on which is the best and worst. Well... how about people put their money where their mouth is? Whichever megathread can get the most points through fundraising will win a commissioned art piece of their thread being the best thread in CSPAM and crushing their forum enemies. So how does it work? I'm going to post donation links at the end of this post, all you have to do is donate money and post in here a receipt of you doing so and which megathread you want to pledge your loyalty to. I, or a committee member of the Goonfund, will come by and verify this donation and tally up the points you get from this. Point breakdown:
Subscriptions are worth double to help people who cannot give as much money as others. That way 10 people with 5 dollars, can sub and make as much points as 1 person giving $100. If you want to know more about the Goonfund itself, please check out the thread and feel free to ask any questions there or PM a committee member (or email us at usgoonfund @ gmail dot com) NOTE: must be american to donate, but if you send money to an american who then donates to us... we can't prove you did that. Also, please remember this is supposed to be in good fun and to help a good cause - preventing goons from going hungry, being without medicine or clothes, helping them keep transportation, or making sure there's a roof over their head. People are also getting esoteric with their requests, having had no qualms about not only reaching outside of CSPAM but even choosing individual posts as their mascots! I'm in favor of it, only because I don't know how tiller is going to figure out how to draw this. If you have donated, please feel free to try and get your thread up higher! Or Covid thread, try and maintain your lead! Should be easy to monitor the standings when you never leave home  But seriously, thank you all for donating. It's been wonderful to see and we're already going to see the results because we can go back and help people that had requests limited in the past few weeks.
