Yeah, I see the deck. You're so low on magic with it. Not just spells, which is fine to kinda forgo, but you have no magic creatures. I mean, yeah, Succubus and Lillim, but they're not that great for damage, but staying around. Consider swapping a few creatures out for magic counterparts?

It seems every game by turn 3 my opponent has 18 life worth of creatures on the board and has removal'd every big attacker I have.

Trying to loving stabilize against a ton of 4+ toughness beaters that survive my AE, and of course all the shooters are magic to wreck my incorporeals. Necro might have the answers to everything in the inferno package, but it's still on the bad side of the threat/answer problem. Too many of the infero dudes just go over the top of the non-trump necro dudes. At best I'm looking at a grindy game that risks losing to the random triple shock/pao hands. So I played a bunch of games against Tae's Sanctuary deck. I only won 1 out of like 6. Half of it was back luck and bad playing, but after speaking with Tae, I realized I needed to tweak my deck a bit. It's really awesome to have someone to playtest and practice against. Thanks Tae!

So I ended up starting as Necro on accident. Clicked on them thinking it would offer a pop-up with details and found myself with a shiny new deck. Read that I should be ditching the one for one poo poo, but should I change my hero out or grab any creatures in particular from the Altar? And I apparently pulled a shiny card, it's got a lit up spinning border and distortion on the background. Can you trade with players or something or is it just something to gawk at? edit: ign is heretic464 really wish I could change my uplay name. There's also achievements for owning 50 base set premiums and building a deck entirely from premium cards, but it's not worth working for.

Possibly a stupid question, but does anyone know how to unlock the locked cards in the Altar? Do I just need to be a higher level, or are the specific requirements that must be met? Edit: Never mind, I'm an idiot, a quick glance through the achievements answered my question.

Man, I would make so many more decks and probably wind up buying so many more cards if they would let you use a card in multiple decks. I get that they don't do that so you buy more cards to have the conveinience of not swapping commons around but it achieves the opposite. I already swap fire spells between two decks, and when I consider making another one I am always like mah I'd have to blow up this deck to get the earths and this deck to get the creatures etc. I'd probably be spreading myself thin collecting every faction if I could share the spells between them.

Man, I hit the same Sandalphon Tower of Oblivion combo deck twice in a row last night. I'm amused by the whole thing (I'd hahave probably got him down the second time if my deck wasn't a pile; I had him to 2 before he stabilized), but man I don't think I'd want to take it tto regular ranked games. It would be a Tournament thing only. 40 minute Solitaire would get old.

So I'd like to talk about a positive experience I had with MMDoC Customer Support this week. If you read the OP, it's mentioned that I bought 3 Song of the Long card with wildcards. This really did happen. That's 48 wildcards down the drain, and I felt sick to my stomach. I bought them because I didn't know, at the time, you could only have one Unique card in your deck. There's nothing in the GUI or tutorial to provide that information. I submitted a question/ticket with Ubisoft Customer Support. After a couple of days, I received a non-templated response from the support staff. Here's his response: quote:Hi seanbas, Anyways, I'm impressed.

If one of the more knowledgeable, highish ELO goons (Josh, Tae, Noi, Jedit, etc.) want to write some blurbs (no more than a few sentences each) for a school or two, I can add them to the OP.

So I am just about to break 900 ELO with an academy deck I am loving the poo poo out of. It's using Gazal's active plus Dragon Golems to recur the gently caress out of really good control/removal spells. (Soul Reaver, Shadow Image, Puppet Master, Curse of the Netherworld, etc) Ironically, the people who complain about this deck are the ones playing Necro and recurring all their stupid spitters and banshees with atropos. I guess it's only broken if it's used against them. Anyway, here's my deck list....I'm getting crushed by Sanctuary and sometimes Haven, and could use some tweaking advice. Hero: Gazal, Heral of the Void Events: (I know I can make much better choices here, open to suggestions) 2 Week of Knowledge 2 Celebration 2 Week of the Weaponsmith 2 Hail storm Creatures: 3 Scholar 4 Spirit-bound Djinn 4 Wizard Tutor 4 Rakshasa 3 Wizard Apprentice 1 Blind Brother 4 Rakshasa Raja 1 Titan 3 Arcane Archer 2 Rakshasa Scout 2 Dragon Golem 3 Djinn 1 Djinn Mentor 1 Nur, Spellweaver Spells: 3 Death Seals 2 Cursed Bound 4 Soul Reaver 2 Shadow Image 1 For Whome The Bell Tolls 2 Puppet Master 1 Curse of the Netherworld 1 Void Ripple Fortunes: 2 Favorite Spell 61 cards total Anyway, I'm thinking I'll probably cut For Whom The Bell Tolls since it sits in my hand 90% of the time, but I'm not sure if I should make some changes to my creature base. Hello, fellow Academy player! I really like your deck, Ylide. I used to run 4 Rakshasa myself. After playtesting a bit last night, I took some out and replaced them with Pao Deathseekers. So that's something you can try and see how it works. Also, I'd run 1 Spellstealer Wizard. After testing, not only do you get to play a copy of their spell for free, it also steals it (removes it from their side of the board). So it's like, oh wow, you just played Might of Nature Mr. Inferno deck. Thanks brah! Yeah, 59 cards is recommended for your deck. So I posted Void Ripple earlier in this thread, and people were dissing it, but I'm glad to see someone else using it. It's helpful, isn't it? Really good against Atropos + Adar-Malik (that Necro hero that can recur), and it has overall flexibility for end-game. I'm working on work projects for most of the day. I started playing this yesterday and I'm at ~750 Elo with my Inferno rush deck and still winning most of my games. Necro can be annoying depending on my draw - I try to mulligan for a hand heavy on Succubus/Lilim/spells. The other factions haven't seemed difficult in terms of having mechanics that thwart me. Garant, Seeker of Discord 1 Week of Knowledge 1 Market of Secrets 2 Week of Weaponsmiths 4 Month of the Dancing Flames 4 Maniac 1 Dark Assassin 4 Succubus 4 Demented 4 Pao Deathseeker 4 Juggernaut 1 Pit Fiend 4 Lilim 2 Ravager 4 Fire Bolt 2 Inner Fire 2 Teleport 2 Town Portal 4 Fireball 4 Gold Pile 2 Altar of Destruction 2 Hall of Torment The Week of Knowledge should become another Market of Secrets and the Pit Fiend should be another Dark Assassin once I pick up a few more wildcards. I'm open to suggestions if there's anything obvious that I could improve. e: my IGN is SandwichCrisis if anyone wants to add me

I can't comment too much on Academy since I've never played it, but I will echo putting Paos in because they go well in most every deck. I finally saved my wildcards to get Phrias last night. I think I'm in love. Also got a premium Adar-Malik out of packs so I might have to put a Necro deck together if I have the card base for it.

The notable spells here are the direct damage ones as well as Inner Fire (+2 creature damage until end of turn). The Forbidden Flame is a must have, as it is a great board reset, and Fire Bolt and Fireball provide good damage for the cost. The rest of the spells can be good, but they are situational or easy to avoid altogether. Obviously feel free to make any changes, or if people wish to dispute what I stated, explain why and let's discuss.
