It's me, I'm the bad Santee! Friday night I came home to a rather nondescript brown package on the porch. Further inspection showed it to be from a far off land indeed, Denmark! Inside was a work of fine art

and a very, very nice note from my wonderful Santa, bolind!

Along with an assortment of fantastic things

The screwdrivers have already been pressed into service, as have both the rulers. I may be using the foldable one to mess with my cats instead of as a ruler at the moment, but it counts, right? I'm pretty sure the 8mm socket was meant as a joke, but half the crap on both the suburban and Saturn dashes seems to be held in with 7, 8, and 9mm bolts (I make no claims about these being factory fasteners), so it will definitely be useful. The real standout though is the coffee. I do have a grinder, fortunately, and have already consumed more than half the coffee (why yes, I do consume my coffee in 40 oz mugs, my consumption is very high), which is honestly the best coffee I've ever had.

The most fun part of this gift - the weird snacks! I had been seriously buying some of the salt lakrids (salt licorice) for myself simply to see what they tasted like, so the timing on this couldn't have been better. I love black licorice, and the lakrids and salt fish proved to be no exception - I'd consumed half of each within an hour of opening the gift. The real fun though, was inflicting them on sharing them with my family. I almost made my sister puke with the salt lakrids, and my sister in law had to spit them and the salt fish out :D The trees were universally liked, my niece and nephew hoovered them up (and refused to try anything else). Thank you again, bolind!

Cheers, mate! Extremely happy that it made it to you in one piece!

The dick is my wife's creation. ("Hey, honey, draw a dick here! No time to explain!") I think the proportions are a bit off, but I'll let the readership draw its own conclusions...

Happy holidays, and may your diet of hipster coffee and black liquorice not lead to any further gagging amongst your loved ones.

I don't think it's a timing issue at least not completely. I've been waiting on a package from South Korea for a while now. It should have arrived a couple weeks ago. Meanwhile I've received like 3 packages from China and sent a couple to Canada with minimal delays. The CA ones sat in Jamaica NY for a couple days but moved pretty quickly.

Yeah, it's weird. I got a package through customs and to Scotland in 48 hours, but a similar package going to San Diego has taken a week.

Not sure if my email with shipping notification popped up in your spam folder or not, but I did send my gift out and Elemnt80 already posted upon receiving it! I can resend the email and attachment if needed, I am not good with computer.

Most of my gift apart from the lockpicks and badging was just cool stuff I had lying around and I'm glad to see it was appreciated! Perhaps including the other picks was funnier in my head, but they can't all be zingers...

Nadmonk, I'm so glad everything got there before Christmas! My sledge and screwdriver have served me well over the years (I've pounded the heads off of countless rivets in the junkyard with that combo), so I hope the various tools prove useful for you. Merry Christmas!

STR, I found that magnet in the So El Paso store (I needed to buy the food component and didn't want to drive to Mesilla). They had quite a few, but that one was the coolest.

A PACKAGE ARRIVED!

(I appreciated the non-lick-sealed envelope, that's a weird thought that's been going through my mind everytime I open a letter - "Did someone lick this?")

The envelope opens to reveal a lot of stickers (most of which have already found their way on to my workbench) and a letter:

Big Taint posted:

Happy Holidays Krakkles & Lil' Krakkles!

I hope this package finds you well. We are back under lockdown; hopefully, we have learned from our experiences this spring and will be in good spirits, even though we must celebrate distantly.

Included you will find:
  • Mayhew pick set - I have a bunch of Mayhew's picks and they stand up to plenty of abuse, I hope you get good use out of them.
  • Engineer screw pliers - special shape for grabbing a screw in the end and spinning it out. Surprisingly handy, and good pliers generally.
  • Miette gingersnap cookies - flipping awesome cookies from a local bakery.
  • Cartoon Turbo t-shirt for Lil' Krakkles - I hope this fits! My dude is still smol so I'm not versed in correlating large toddler/small youth sizes yet. Also, various baubles from that company, Live Eat Race, to qualify for free shipping. LOL
  • Some random stickers I had sitting on my desk.
  • A couple of magnetic hooks that are pretty handy.
  • Botts' Dot (green) that I found on a walk in the neighborhood.
  • Last, but certainly not least, an elegant throw pillow featuring America's favorite actor, Nicolas Cage

Enjoy!

-Big Taint

A wonderful celebration of the season! The tools are exactly what I hoped for (I've never heard of Mayhew and they sound like a great step up from whatever the ones I've used before are, Engineer pliers are coooool), the cookies are perfect in two ways: They're delicious, and they're too ginger spicy for everyone else, I so I get them to myself, the shirt is adorable and appears to be exactly the right size although someone didn't want to pose for a picture - will update if/when I convince her!). The stickers, as mentioned, are adorning garage surfaces already, the magnetic hooks live on my new toolbox, and that Botts' Dot is exactly the kind of junk I go for. The key chains are going to make cool garage decorative baubles, as well!

The blue door-not-toucher thing now belongs to my child, because she basically just grabbed it and wouldn't give it back - needless to say, excellent choice, she loves it.

But y'all.

THAT PILLOW. First of all, the little one adores it - she wanted it on her bed, first, but later moved it to the couch. There was a solid hour of her "sneaking" it behind us and then saying "Daddy do you know who's behind you??" or the like. PLUS IT'S NIC FRIGGIN' CAGE.

Bravo, Big Taint, you have touched me with your AISSmas spirit!

I'm not looking forward to that part.

The internet has delivered!

Maksimus64 has provided me with a fine selection of snacks, home made soaps , and the centerpiece - a 12a rotor candle! I've repurposed many as clocks, but never considered a candle. My wife loves the elephant soap. The almonds are great and I'll have to try smoking some on my little Traeger. Funny thing, I also sent my SS markers, but a friend has raved about the Milwaukee's lasting forever. I shall test this.

Thank you!
And thanks to mekilljoydammit for the assist.
Question - is the rotor usable (I kid!), but really- is it coated so it won't rust?

I am shamelessly re-gifting the 10MM socket to a non-car friend, who has lost his 3/8 10mm stubby socket and will be ever so appreciative!

And to my SS, I 100% forgot to include a note. Once it arrives via tracking I will craft a PM. My humblest of apologies.

I appreciated participating in a community like this because of things like AI:SS.
